    About Lost My Name

Launched in 2013 by Asi Sharabi, Tal Oron, author David Cadji-Newby and illustrator Pedro Serapicos and headquartered in London, Lost My Name is a personalized picture book aimed at children from ages 2 to 6. The company gained traction in 2014 after appearing on business development program Dragon’s Den in which the founders received a record-breakingly large investment sum of £100,000. Since then, the company has already sold more than 2 million books. The producers sum up their method as combining technology with the traditional power of storytelling to create an entirely new experience for children.
In addition to their success in investment and consumer reception, the children’s book producers also won the award of Best Start Up in the FutureBook innovation awards in 2014.
The Lost My Name book is an illustrated story based around a child’s single first name and therefore allows the child or the reader to feel personally busy in the story as it is supposedly them who is actually taking part in the adventure. Due to how personal this can feel, it makes the book an ideal gift for a young child.

    Customer Services

In order to request a book, customers must type in the child’s first name, select their gender and select the cartoon of that gender that looks most similar to the real child, then they are able to preview how the book will appear with that name.
The story is constructed so that at the beginning the cartoon child is distressed about having lost their own name, and in order to find it again they go on an adventure. Within this adventure the child finds each letter of their name in various ways. Each letter of the alphabet corresponds to a certain animal or object around which a story is written describing how the child may discover it. Every letter’s short story is compiled to make one full story book, by the end of which the child has re-found their name. Since the great success with this story model, the company has release several other short, personalized and illustrated tales.
The book can be shipped freely worldwide and the website also offers additional products such as an alphabet poster and card games.
