About Parallels
It can be frustrating when you cannot use a particular program because your laptop has the wrong operating system. Sometimes, you can only use a program on a Windows-desktop. Parallels offers cross-platform solution that allow you to use Windows programs on Macs.

Parallels Desktop allows you to run Windows on Mac computer. But Parallels offers more than just running a different operating system on your device, it also brings you a toolbox. This toolbox allows you to make screenshots, download YouTube videos and prevent your Mac from going into sleep mode. You can also protect the personal information in your computer files with a password. Parallels is optimized for macOS Sierra, bringing you Microsoft Office integration, Retina support, management tools and 500GB of online storage. Parallels desktop is available for both business and home users.

There are several system requirements for using Parallels. This includes that your software must be macOS Sierra 10.12 or later, OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 or later, or OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 or later. Supported 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems include Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 R2, SP0. Your Mac desktop should have an Intel Core 2 Duo, core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Intel Core M or Xeon prrocessor. 
There is both a standard and professional verson of Parallels. The pro-version gives you additional features like more virtualization and debugging support, a Microsoft Visual Studio plug-in, linked clones, bash completion, an enhanced network editor, custom icons, custom host-only networks, sorting VMs, rollback mode, netboot, EFI Secure Boot and more.

The toolbox that comes with Parallels has many different features, such as:

Creating compessed archives Take screenshots or record audio from computer microphone Set an alarm Set up a countdown Use a stopwatch or timer Convert videos so that they can be played on your iPhone or iPad Do not disturb Prevent your computer from going to screen Immediately lock your screen Hide files and folders on desktop Mute microphone
