    Since I moved from previous insurance to Pawp, it has been a great experience. My cat accidentally ate a 30-inch fish line and I had to bring her to the emergency room, she was choking and could hardly breathe. When I first saw the cost estimate, I was shocked because it was very costly. However, I made a decision to go forward with the surgery with the belief in Pawp. Finally, the doctor found the string and could successfully take it out. And my cat has recovered well.
    and the use of the emergency fund was really there when I needed it most. I was impressed by the fast, simple, and kind process for the claims. I will use pawp for the rest of my life! To my friends and neighbors, I strongly recommend pawp for their pet insurance.

    Protection Plan subscription

    I just signed up for a Protection Plan subscription after getting a free year of Walmart +. I was kinda unsure about it at first, but I'm really happy I decided to add it. A few months in, my lab puppy got aspiration pneumonia from trying to eat a sprinkler stream. I used the online app and they told me to take her to my vet. The vet bills ended up being $1400, but because of the Protection Plan, I was able to get reimbursed within a week after submitting the paperwork. The $3,000 coverage for just $14 a month that can be used for any pet in the app is super convenient for pet owners like me. I definitely recommend this service for anyone who wants peace of mind and financial security for their pets' health.

    Emergency vet advice

    My cat was choking on something late at night and I couldn't reach any local vets. Luckily, I signed up for a virtual vet service. They talked me through what to do and we were able to remove the obstruction - turns out my cat had swallowed a small toy. The vet saved my cat's life and I am so thankful for their help.     Emergency vet reimbursement service

    I've been using this service since it first started, and it used to be really helpful. Initially, if the vet determined there was an emergency after a video call, they would pay the hospital directly. When my pet needed surgery, it was a huge financial relief. But now, they've changed the system to reimburse later, and it's not as great. When my bulldog needed critical care and the hospital needed payment upfront, it was a hassle. They said my records weren't good enough, and the communication was lacking. Unfortunately, my poor pet didn't make it, but at least they did end up covering most of the costs. I'm not a fan of the new system, but in the end, they did come through.

    Emergency Fund

    I recently got the emergency fund option from this place and it seriously saved me! My old cat had passed away not long ago and I was feeling really bummed out and worried about what to do. But having that fund gave me some comfort knowing I had some backup if things got rough. It's a one-time deal, but it really helped me out in a hard spot.

    Quick live chat support

    The live chat support at this place is seriously a game changer. It's so awesome being able to get immediate guidance on how to take care of my pet. The vet I chatted with was really helpful and gave me a bunch of useful tips just by asking me a few questions. They even followed up to check if I had any other questions. The only downside was not getting a heads up when it was my turn to chat with the vet.

    Monthly membership Pawp vets

    I have not had to use the emergency fund yet (luckily), but based on what I've read on otherr sites it seems like its works really well and people get their bill paid quick andeasy.

    I hope I never have to use it for my baby. I do talk to the Pawp vets all the time however and they are super helpful and make me feel at ease knowing I did not waste $200 on a regular appointment with my vet.

    Emergency fund

    I was having a serious issue with my puppy and was freaking out.. he was normally super energetic but I knew something was wrong. I talked to the Pawp vets and they sent me to the clinic right away. turns out he was having some sort of blockage that was life threatening. They paid the bill to the clinic, no reimbursement or anything... saved my and my dog's life!

    Thank you for writing this up, Lucy. I'm scouring the internet for "bad Pawp" reviews, and finding them strangely hard to come by.

    But the way Pawp structures it's protocol sets off red flags for me; ie: You don't get access to the fund (you pay monthly for) unless THEIR online vets clear you for emergency care no matter how dire the actual situation.

    AND the fact that if you call in, and they play down your pet's symptoms, and tell you to make a non-emergent appt, and you don't (or can't! - precisely bc in the event of emergency you expected to have access to the fund) then you don't get access to the fund then either. ???? Further, in that case they're gonna accuse YOU of medical neglect. Says so right under that clause, "We don't support 'medical neglect.'"

    Ahh, the classic gaslight scenario! In addition to being a glaring loophole, allowing them to deny emergency funding to enrolled members. All Pawp has to do then, in the event of a true emergency, is play down your pet's symptoms ONCE, and hold themselves not responsible for ANY care relating to that emergency; the one both you and your board certified vet of record knew damn well was an emergency from the start.

    I'm guessing Pawp staffed Vets are asked to abstain from clearing emergency visits whenever possible... or the fund would collapse. Not to mention the plain idiocy of being expected to log into an online chat forum before heading to the vet even if your dog gets hit by a car. Or seizes. Or suddenly falls unconscious and cannot be roused.

    My guess is that pets are gonna die in relation to this protocol, as is always the case when those acting as insurance cos. are allowed to dictate what is/isn't emergent. And that lawsuits will follow, and Pawp will either conform itself to industry standards, meaning ANY US or CA Board-certified Vet can classify an event as an emergency, and thereby receive payment for services rendered. Or perish under the weight of due scrutiny.

    For the record, Pawp, it's nice to include 24/7 vet access for questions/concerns... but when coverage of an emergency is reliant upon some random, necessarily low-info opinion from someone who can't truly assess my pet; their rate of respiration, their level of consciousness, heart rate, or PB... above that of the board-certified vet who can... well, I think that's a problem. If not for that, you'd have had my business.

    Flea medicine

    The flea medicine was amazing, it really helped my pup a lot! He was having some health problems, but after we got rid of the fleas and started giving him the medicine, he perked right up. He's eating better now and his poop is back to normal.

    This is a scam. You and your furry friend are destined for nothing but heartache if you're lucky or , cremation if you're really unlucky enough to have made the purchase.
    The vets in this so called plan are substandard and are not at all interestd in your furry friend or you.

    Insurance plan

    I have mixed feelings after dealing with the company last night. The vet was TERRIBLE. I had a puppy who I told them had been having intermittent vomiting and diarrhea for 3 days and that it was getting worse, who I indicated had been directly exposed to a parvo positive dog, and they still wouldn't consider it "an emergency". She said, "it's critical but not an emergency." What does that even mean??? If it's critical, it's an emergency. She showed zero empathy to my emotional state of distress and was quite rude. She told me it wasn't an emergency until he became more lethargic aka until he's half dead I guess. ANY dog who has been having diarrhea and vomiting for 3 days is at risk for dehydration. I was an animal science major, I'm a lifelong rancher, and I'm highly involved in dog sports so I'm fairly knowledgeable compared to an average pet owner and not one to over-react. I called customer service, explained the issue, said I was taking my dog in regardless and said I wanted to cancel. They were very nice. About 20 minutes later, they called me back and said that if I did take my dog in and he got admitted or tested positive for parvo, they would still be able to help. For that reason and that reason alone, I didn't cancel the policy. FYI: it wasn't parvo but it WAS a very bad stomach bug that required sub q fluids and 6 different medications and the vet said it would definitely have progressed without aggressive treatment.

    So good customer service but their vets .... Maybe if your dog is actively bleeding to death or choking or its head falls off and rolls across the floor, they will approve you ahead of time. But if they're just sick as ..., you're ....

    Was thinking about purchasing service

    After reading 5 in a row bad reviews one of them being from someone well versed in veterinary care, also one review paws asked for a 2 min video of the dog....depending on the scenario I probably wouldn't be calm enough to do so. Also I just had a situation with my puppy swallowing a vitamin d3 a calcium supplement which I physically didn't see but I couldn't find it either. That situation can't wait until symptoms arise because by then the damage is done and its to late for my puppy. He had to be treated right away as if I saw him swallow the supplement. From everything I'm reading in reviews this would have turned out all bad and I would too be writing a bad review on Pawp. I need better odds before purchasing this for my dogs!!!

    I spoke to Quan at Pawp on 6/23/21. I reasoned and explained that I don’t have the extra money for the service, therefore, I told him to cancel my subscription. Here it is a month later, and Pawp is still trying to charge my card. I’m still receiving texts and emails suggesting I update my credit card information. By bank decided to change my card number because Pawp is attempting to charge my card anyway. This situation is ridiculous!

    I never gave permission for Pawp to take automatic payments from my account I paid one month decided I didn't want it anymore they are taking money from my account anyway they are basically stealing from me
