Overnight sleep study and follow up evaluation by Dr. Krainin

I ordered the overnight sleep study by Singular Sleep. Delivery was prompt and instructions adequate. The first night I could not sleep at all knowing about the monitoring. I called them and they said they would extend the time I could have it, and that I could take Advil PM to help me sleep the next night. So I took that plus a glass of wine. Then my study showed up severe sleep apnea. I'm not sure it would have been that bad without the sedation.
Then I had the consultation with Dr. Krainin. I came out of that consultation thinking I was going to die any day. He recommended an ASV CPAP machine from Singular for $4500 not covered by Medicare or my HSV card: 1. I can find the same machine for $2900. 2. I just competed a thorough Cardiology evaluation (echocardiogram, 3 day heart monitor, Stress test to 100%) and the Cardiologist felt that I was in excellent condition which I agree with. Dr. Krainin didn't seem to be interested in my opinions as a physician, only that I had a complex problem that needed a very expensive machine. And I agree with him that I probably need the upgraded machine for both Central and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. But I got the Resmed 10 machine and my numbers immediately improved to mild sleep apnea with only 5 to 10 episodes per hour, and clinically I feel much better.
So I approve of the Singular Home Sleep Study. I'm disappointed by Dr. Krainins evaluation which made me feel terrible, and I am disappointed about the recommendation for and overpriced ASV machine.
