Great books!
I don't understand why some folks are griping about ordering books online. I received my printed books really fast and got my e-books immediately. Sure, some of the books aren't written by professional English writers, but I still manage to grasp the gist of what they're trying to convey. Just take a peek at the preview before making a purchase. Publishers frequently offer bundle deals, and it's not just here. I've been satisfied with all of my book purchases!
Kindle books from a popular platform
I've been using an e-reader to read Kindle books and I gotta say, I'm really impressed with the quality of editing on this platform. Unlike some other e-readers out there, the way it converts PDFs to epub format is spot on, making for a nicer reading experience. The topics in the books are cool and the writing is well-done. Although, I think adding some more depth and including subjects that aren't so work-focused would make the reading experience even better for me.
CMake for C++ book
I just got a new book about CMake for C++, and let me tell you, it's been really impressive. The way it's written is just so clear and easy to understand, making it a breeze to keep up with the lessons. I love how they use stylized text to point out the key ideas and how I can take notes online. Plus, being able to read the book on different devices has been super handy for me.
Subscription renewal
My experience with the subscription service has been pretty good. Some books are better than others, but I've found valuable info in the library. There were times when I needed specific info that I couldn't find anywhere else, and the library came through for me. I've noticed a few mistakes in the materials, but that happens with other publishers too.
Canceling subscription, will return
I actually canceled my subscription a few months back and they were totally cool about it. Surprisingly, all my books are still saved in my account. I'm really looking forward to rejoining!
Subscription for educational content
The content ain't too bad, but man, using that website is just the worst. Every time I log in, I get kicked out, and when I try to get back in, the page just freezes. I've tried refreshing, logging in from another tab, but it's always the same problem. So annoying. I can't even get to the stuff I paid for. I'm done, canceling my subscription after less than a month.
Subscription frustration
This app sucks, it's a total scam. I can't cancel my subscription and they keep jacking up the price without telling me. And get this - the cancellation form has a Cancel button that's disabled! I finally contacted Customer Service, but man, what a letdown. I used to have faith in this publisher.
"Learn Three.js - Third Edition" purchase
The examples in the book don't match the source code, so they're pretty useless. I've tried sending in a bunch of requests to get the issues fixed, but the maintainer on Github hasn't responded in like four years. It's been pretty disappointing, to be honest.
Useless teaching content
Most of these trainers and teachers ain't worth much for teaching. Their way of teaching is just not cutting it. And don't even get me started on the lack of good training materials.
Trial subscription
I signed up for the trial but had a hard time canceling it before it was supposed to end. I tried to cancel using the app and website, but no luck. Even reaching out to customer support didn't help, my account still stayed active and set to renew into a paid subscription. I even tried to get my credit card information removed with no success. So now I'm reaching out to my bank and Visa to handle any unexpected charges. I recommend holding off on putting in your credit card info with this service until after the trial period is over.
Free trial billing issue
So, I was all signed up for this free trial, you know? They told me I wouldn't get charged until a specific date, which I was cool with. But then, right before that date, they tried to charge my card! Thankfully, my card was on it like "hold up! Possible fraud alert!" and blocked the charge. I saw a bunch of other folks having the same billing issues, so I'm outta here.
Hacky eBooks and Video Courses
The eBooks and video courses are okay, but man, the website is just a mess. The editing is so bad, full of typos and mistakes in the code examples. I mean, seriously, the website is a total disaster – takes forever to load, hard to find your purchased stuff, and constantly crashing and causing issues with downloads. It's almost impossible to actually use the stuff you bought. Honestly, it feels like they're trying to scam you into getting a subscription. I'd steer clear of this place at all costs.
Monthly subscription scam
I thought I was making a smart move by only signing up for a month to test it out, but boy was I mistaken! Right after I joined for September, I canceled my subscription and got slapped with a charge for October without them even asking. Sneaky and so infuriating! Seems like a bunch of others are in the same boat, so I'd be extra careful before handing over your card details. Currently in the process of sorting things out with PayPal, what a headache!
Sketchy subscription model
I thought I was just making a one-time purchase, but it turns out it's one of those tricky subscription deals where canceling is a pain. You gotta go through all these hoops just to pause it for a while, and then they sneakily start charging you again out of the blue. The only way I've found to really get out of it is by reaching out to customer service and crossing my fingers. I'd suggest using a prepaid card with a fixed amount on it to steer clear of any fishy business.
Recent book purchase
I just bought a book from this publisher and man, was I let down. The content was seriously lacking quality and felt like they just slapped it together in a hurry. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone in search of a good read that's both well-written and informative.
