About Southampton Airport

Southampton Airport was first excavated in 1925. It is built on what was formerly a Roman villa.

Though it was made in 1925, its connection with aviation had begun as early as 1910 where a certain pilot used to land and take off from the place.

Today, Southampton Airport is owned and operated by AGS Airports. Formed in 2014, AGS is also the owner of the Aberdeen and Glasgow airports in the UK.

Nearly 2 million passengers use Southampton Airport every year making it the UK's 18th busiest airport. 95% of the flights here are operated by Flybe, a local privately-owned airline.

Smooth and pleasant travel experience at Southampton Airport
I recently traveled through Southampton Airport and overall had a positive experience. The check-in process was efficient and the staff were friendly. The security lines moved quickly and the staff were thorough but not intrusive. The airport itself was clean and well-maintained. The duty-free selection was limited but had a good variety of products.

The flight itself was on time and the flight attendants were professional and attentive. The seating and cabin were comfortable. The only downside was that the in-flight entertainment options were limited.

Overall, Southampton Airport provided a smooth and pleasant travel experience.
