What's best for the pets
It is really troublesome when we as a family plan to travel. usually with staycation, roadtrips or any other vacation, I take my Ronnie with me. He is a siberian husky, great companion, more than one think of.
He is far more active than me.

I've been using this pet sitting platform for more than ten years now, and honestly, I can't see myself switching to any other service. Having a small fee for canceling last minute could help make sure that sitters are more dependable and follow through on their commitments. Just a $5 fee could be a good way to remind sitters to stick to their word and not bail out easily on pet owners. My experience with house sitting has been a rollercoaster of good and bad moments. I've loved getting to stay in new places and take care of cute pets, but there have been times where the animals were not well-behaved. Some owners haven't done a great job training their dogs, which has made pet sitting tough. From dealing with pets who aren't potty trained to struggling with getting them to listen, it can turn what should be a fun gig into a real headache.

Creating a profile on this platform totally paid off because we found an amazing sitter for our puppy pretty quickly. It's key to make sure you clearly spell out what your pet needs in your profile, since some folks applying didn't seem to catch onto our specific requirements.

Trust Issues
I gave Trusted Housesitters a shot because I needed someone to keep an eye on my place over Easter, but man, did they disappoint me! I thought they were the real deal based on their name, but turns out they're not trustworthy at all. Dealt with three awful sitters who clearly hadn't been properly vetted and lacked real references. One lady didn't even look like her profile picture and wouldn't even show me her ID, going by "the Divine" or something like that, seriously bizarre. I reached out to complain, but never heard back from them. Ended up finding a decent couple eventually, but I wouldn't suggest this site to anyone. Just save yourself the trouble!
Two amazing experiences
I had such an amazing time hanging out with two standard poodles, 2 geckos, and a tortoise in San Luis Obispo, California thanks to THS! Staying in a new place and looking after these awesome pets was really cool. I'm already looking forward to more adventures!
House sitters with cancellation issues
I've had two sitters from this service and both times were good. But my main issue is that there's no guarantee if a sitter cancels at the last minute. Even if you've already paid most of your holiday costs through the service, if a sitter backs out, your plans could be messed up. It's a big downside that makes me hesitant to use this service again.

I've had some good and some not-so-good experiences with this house sitting and pet care platform. I like that I can connect with pet and house owners, save my favorite listings, and get invites, but there are definitely some things that could be better. I've done 8 sits through the platform, all of which have been pretty positive. But there are a few important issues that need fixing. For starters, it would be nice to have more info about the specific neighborhoods in city listings. Some homeowners give hints, but it's not always clear. It would also be helpful to be able to ask owners questions before applying to sit, to make sure it's a good match for everyone. And the mobile app could use some work too. The tiny message window makes it tough to chat effectively - you can only see two lines at a time and scrolling up and down is a pain. Overall, the platform is a cool idea, but there are definitely some areas that need some attention and improvement.
Travel buddies for Kona
Oh my gosh, the folks who stayed at our place were big animal lovers and really spoiled Kona with love and attention. Plus, we didn't have to spend money on boarding her elsewhere. It was a win-win situation!
