Moderation & Verification Policy

US-Reviews is an open review platform operated by Reviews International. The aim is to publish real consumer experiences while limiting abuse, manipulation, and misleading content.

How reviews are submitted

Reviews on US-Reviews are submitted voluntarily by visitors. A purchase invitation is not required to post a review.

Reviews can be submitted with or without an account. Creating an account unlocks additional features but has no effect on moderation decisions.

What we verify — and what we do not

US-Reviews does not require mandatory purchase verification by default. Reviewers are not asked to upload invoices, order numbers, or receipts for every review.

Instead, the platform applies baseline checks to detect large-scale abuse, including:

  • Automated checks for unusual patterns or submission frequency
  • IP and device-based anomaly detection
  • Detection of duplicate or bulk submissions
  • Signals associated with spam, automation, or bot activity

These measures are meant to limit manipulation without filtering out genuine experiences.

When proof may be requested

In some cases, additional context or evidence may be requested from a reviewer. This can happen when:

  • A business disputes a review as factually incorrect
  • A review contains strong claims that cannot be assessed on their own
  • Automated systems flag the review as potentially abusive

Providing proof is optional. If no clarification is provided, a review may be removed if it cannot be reasonably evaluated.

Moderation rules

Reviews are assessed against clear content rules. Content may be removed if it includes:

  • Spam, advertising, or promotional material
  • Hate speech, threats, or harassment
  • Personal data of private individuals
  • Clearly fabricated or automated submissions
  • Unlawful or illegal content

Negative opinions alone are not a reason for removal. Critical reviews are allowed when they describe a genuine experience.

Business responses and disputes

Businesses listed on US-Reviews can respond publicly to reviews. Responses do not change review scores or visibility.

Businesses may report reviews they believe violate this policy. All reports are assessed using the same standards, regardless of business size or commercial relationship.

No paid influence on moderation

US-Reviews does not offer paid removal of reviews. Advertising, affiliate partnerships, or other commercial arrangements do not affect moderation decisions.

How scores are calculated

Scores on US-Reviews are based on user ratings submitted with reviews. The overall score updates automatically when new reviews are added.

There is no paid weighting or manual adjustment of scores. Reviews removed or excluded for policy reasons are not counted.

Scores reflect user input and can change as new reviews are published.

Transparency and accountability

Moderation decisions follow documented internal guidelines. The goal is consistent, proportionate action with minimal intervention.

This policy applies equally to all businesses and categories.
