coin sleeves, bubble wrap, double box, taped like it mattered. At first the timeline sounded reasonable (five business days), then it stretched to ten, then they told me up to thirty. That rubbed me the wrong way — felt like a bait-and-switch — so I started checking UPS tracking more than I normally would. When Kitco reported the package damaged and later claimed the shipment arrived empty, I went from skeptical to pretty annoyed. I’d photographed the packaging, I even got a notarized statement when they asked for it (awkward and out of pocket, yeah), and I kept thinking, “I packed that thing tight.” The weird part was communication: I found out the UPS claim had been closed before Kitco seemed to know about it. Had I not called UPS and pushed, I don’t know if anyone would’ve noticed. After a lot of back-and-forth, and more persistence than I expected to have to use, Kitco escalated the insurance review and ultimately the loss was acknowledged and compensated. It took longer than I wanted—definitely more patience than I usually have—and the whole episode exposed gaps in how they monitor incoming claims. Still, once it moved, the people handling the insurance were professional and followed the steps they promised. Bottom line: the coins felt real and valuable when I packed them, the process can be frustrating and you need to be persistent, but if you stick with it they will see it through. I’m relieved it ended without me losing the money, though I’ll be more cautious next time and insist on extra follow-up from the start.
Waiting on a withdrawal — and patience ran out
try a small test withdrawal first, insist on written confirmation with clear timelines, and do a quick search for legal cases or complaints about the company before committing large amounts. I feel a bit let down and a little anxious — money is money, after all — but I’m trying to stay practical about it. If others have succeeded with a smooth payout, I’d love to hear how you handled the verification steps or which contacts actually resulted in a transfer. For now my advice is simple: do your homework and don’t assume online steps mean your cash is safe until it’s in your bank.
