Small win after a lot of hassle

they make you pay a dollar to start a week-long trial just to view a rental, and their verification process never finished for me. I never heard from the landlord through their platform, so I went to cancel. There is literally no way to cancel online. None. You have to call during narrow business hours and get past the sales spiel. That was maddening, especially after dealing with companies that let me cancel in two clicks — so right away this felt outdated and aggressive. The moment I knew I was satisfied was when a real person stopped saying "on hold" and actually processed the cancellation, then sent a follow-up email with the confirmation number. It wasn't fast, and it shouldn't have taken four calls, but that confirmation made me breathe easier. Still, they refused to be upfront about data retention and the whole "on hold" wording left me worried they'd keep charging. Customer service was defensive at times, which is why I can't give higher marks. The site itself sort of works if all you want is to browse, but the account controls are weak. If you're used to cleaner processes from other services, this will feel clunky and a little shady. In short: persistence paid off — I got canceled and a small refund — but it was more stressful than it needed to be and I'm still cautious about trusting them with personal info.

Half-good, mostly frustrating but not hopeless

I downloaded the app because I wanted a simple way to get my utility payments showing on my credit file — sounded easy, and the interface actually looked clean at first glance. I gave it a try on a weekday evening, sat down with my bills and bank login, and honestly the initial flow felt pretty friendly. That was my first impression — slick app, clear copy, promises that seemed straightforward. Fast forward a couple weeks and that good first impression started to wobble. I uploaded the utility docs they asked for and followed the steps to link my bank. The app even showed my bank as a supported connection, which is why I went ahead. But the connection never actually went through, and that’s where things started to get messy. I reached out and was told a manager, Zoe, would call back within a week. That call never came. I kept waiting, followed up, and ended up chasing them instead of the other way around. The core issue was simple: my bank has been reporting that utility for years and I had paperwork proving consistent payments, but the system wouldn’t link it and the uploaded documents didn’t trigger the promised fix. Their marketing copy explicitly says if the bank can’t connect, upload the documents and they will handle the rest. In my case, that was not true. What I appreciated was that the reps sounded willing — they were polite enough — but they didn’t have answers. Zoe sounded rushed and uncertain, and when she said she’d check with higher-ups she came back with the same unclear response. There’s a weird inconsistency behind the scenes: sometimes the app shows the bank as connectable, but the back end doesn’t actually make that link. It felt like they were switching reporting vendors or changing processes midstream, and whoever’s running that tech clearly isn’t fully confident in it. My takeaway on customer service is mixed: on the one hand the people I talked to weren’t rude, they tried to plug things into a script. On the other hand there was no follow-through, no real escalation, and when the problem persisted they simply canceled my membership. That was the kicker — instead of fixing incorrect reporting, they ended my contract. I get that companies have policies, but canceling instead of resolving felt like them sweeping the mess under the rug. I’m a lawyer, so I’m not the sort to shrug this off; I’m pursuing it further. That said, I don’t want to throw the whole thing under the bus — the app experience, the price point, and the basic concept are all solid. If you need something cheap and you’re lucky with your bank, it may do the trick. But if you run into a linking problem or incorrect reporting, prepare for slow, inconsistent responses and a customer service team that may not fix things even when you have proof. Small wins: the upload feature is easy to use, and the UI made sense right away. Big problem: the promise that uploading documents will lead to correction did not hold up for me. Emotional note — I wanted to like it and I kept trying, which is why I kept calling and waiting for Zoe to return the call. I was optimistic, then annoyed, then resigned, and now firm about getting this sorted legally. If you’re considering this service, go in knowing it’s a bit of a gamble. For some people it might work perfectly and they’ll never notice the backend issues. For others, especially those with banks or utilities that need manual fixes, you might be stuck in a loop of polite reps, vague manager promises, and no resolution. I’d recommend trying it for the convenience and price, but document everything, keep copies of uploaded files, and be ready to escalate. I’ll post a follow-up when the legal side plays out, because I want to see how they handle an actual demand to fix reporting when it’s clearly wrong. Overall, interesting product, decent app, poor follow-through on delivery and customer service when it matters.
