the panels feel solid when mounted. They aren’t flimsy. The fixings hold well and they don’t creak. The walnut color warms the alcoves up and the acoustic change is real — conversations sound less boxy now. There’s a tactile quality to the pieces; the grooves are smooth, the edges aren’t razor-sharp, you can handle them without gloves if you’re careful. Cutting them is manageable with basic tools. Sanding a tiny edge fixed the look.
Communication with the seller was mixed. I sent photos and a clear description. They replied, and eventually offered a modest discount for the trouble. It didn’t erase the hours I spent trimming and re-installing, but it was something. I felt a bit skeptical at first — like, did they check these before sending? — but their willingness to at least acknowledge the issue settled me down a bit.
If you’re considering these panels, a few tips from my experience: don’t stick them permanently straight away. Use mechanical fixings first. Measure every piece before you mount it for good. Expect to do a little trimming. If you’re not comfortable with that, ask for extra help or insist on a pre-shipment dimensional check. Also, don’t assume the gaps will automatically be perfect — sightlines matter more than you think.
All in all, I’m happy with how the room looks and sounds now. I went from annoyed to satisfied. The panels needed a little work, true, but once adjusted they delivered on feel and function. Would I buy again? Probably yes, provided I or the seller double-check dimensions beforehand. Small flaws, fixable with patience. The final result was worth the effort. Not worth the premium
I installed these wall panels for a kitchen job and honestly, they felt fine in the hands — decent weight, the veneer is real on three sides so edges look OK — but the overall experience was messy. We ordered based on measurements and someone on my end misread the layout, so there were eight boxes left over. Returning them turned into a headache because the return shipping was high and customer support basically shrugged. The rep suggested an option that still left my client paying most of the freight. Also, the panels themselves didn’t match very well once on the wall; some pieces had noticeably different tones and grain, more than I expected from a real-wood veneer. For daily use they look okay from a distance, but up close the inconsistency is distracting when you’re trying to install long runs. As a designer I try to make vendors look good, but this felt like extra work on my side to make things acceptable. If you’re doing a big visible area and want clean seams and consistent grain, I’d pick a cheaper option or a different supplier next time. Not terrible, but not what I’d call premium for the price.
