Misleading matcha, but usable for lattes

this is not ceremonial matcha — it’s mislabeled and noticeably off, though you can still make a passable latte if you’re willing to mask it. I bought it because the listing said “premium/ceremonial,” and right away the color looked dull, more olive than the bright green I expect. The powder felt a bit coarse and clumpy in the tin, not that silky fine texture you get from true ceremonial grades. Taste-wise it’s quite bitter and astringent — I tried sugar, a splash of vanilla, and using less powder in a latte, but the bitterness hung around. The smell was odd too, kind of musty, which made me double-check the package. Compared to actual ceremonial matcha I’ve had from a small tea shop, this was a downgrade in every sensory way. That said, it does dissolve in milk well enough and froths okay, so if you’re making a sweet latte or baking with it, it’s usable. I don’t want to trash it completely, but the product label promises more than the powder delivers. If you’re chasing authentic ceremonial flavor, skip this one. If you just want green color and a workable latte base and don’t mind masking the taste, it’ll do the job.

    Decent product, promo mess

they advertise a free gift but the fine print makes you add another full-price item, so the 'free' part vanishes. I sent several emails, went back and forth and gave up — confusing and disappointing. Today I tried another promo (2+1), same trap. If that keeps happening I'll probably switch brands, but I do like how it absorbs and the subtle morning boost, so I'm giving it another shot.

Pleasantly surprised — not what I expected

I actually ended up liking this more than I thought I would. I know sounds weird since I went in a little skeptical, but hear me out. I bought a 55g pack on a whim because everyone online was talking about it, and at first glance the color and smell were kind of off compared to the bright, grassy matcha I usually buy. It looked a bit dull and had a faint, slightly musty note that made me raise an eyebrow. So yeah, initial impression? Not great. But after whisking it up and taking a proper sip I was pleasantly surprised — it was mellow, smooth, and had this understated green-tea vibe that I actually enjoyed with milk and with water. Not the sharp premium punch I’m used to, but in a cozy, easygoing way it worked for me.
