Last straw, then a pleasant surprise

30 days, no go, call Husqvarna. Calling Husqvarna meant doing a chat (yeah, no direct phone help) so I start the song-and-dance; they give me one local repair shop. That shop says they’re backed up 3–4 weeks. Husqvarna offers a couple more shops — an hour away — and they’re 2–3 weeks out. At that point I’m like, I’m not spending a weekend driving to and fro for repairs on a brand-new tool. Told that to “customer service” via chat and got the classic canned response: nothing else they could do. Two days later, some human actually rings my phone (weird), recaps the whole chat like he’s reading me a script, and then confirms, yep, still nothing. So I’m out about $200 and a lot more annoyed than I expected to be. On the way home I pop into Home Depot, see an ECHO on the shelf, grab it on impulse, pull the cord once — and it fires up. First pull. Since then it’s been dependable: feels well balanced in my hands, lighter than the other unit, less of that rattle-vibe, cuts clean and restarts without the drama. Not saying everything’s perfect, but I went from skeptically frustrated to actually relieved. If you value not wasting weekends on back-and-forth and want something that just works out of the box, maybe give that a look. Wish Husqvarna would handle quick failures better — maybe replace or at least offer a faster fix — but hey, lesson learned.

    Relief after a ridiculous runaround

I’m relieved it ended up sorted, but man — getting there was a chore. I bought this electric pressure washer from Costco because I was prepping the house for a move and needed something that actually blasted away grime (and, yes, my back isn’t great so I wanted a faster option). The unit developed a crack in the pump manifold after only a few uses and started spraying everywhere. That’s annoying enough, but the real problem was getting help. The numbers in the manual led to dead ends or dropped calls, and every rep I did finally reach seemed to point me at someone else — Husqvarna, then the Forest & Garden line, then told to call Briggs & Stratton because they supposedly make the washers. Calling Briggs & Stratton just launched me into an automated maze that nudged me to contact a local dealer, with no human option. I kept getting disconnected or looped around. After a ton of time on hold, emails, and calling Costco customer service, someone finally authorized a warranty replacement. So yes, it was covered and I’m glad — I really am grateful it didn’t end up costing me more. But the experience left a bad taste: confusing handoffs, useless phone numbers, and a lot of helpless waiting that could’ve been avoided with clearer instructions and reachable support. If you’re buying this model, be prepared to be persistent and to involve the retailer if the manufacturer lines fail. Bottom line: product can fail early, warranty can be honored, but getting there requires patience and extra effort.

The trimmer that quit when I needed it most

I was out on a job, standing in a patch of overgrown yard where every step is a little victory, when the brand-new trimmer head simply stopped turning the moment it touched the weeds. That pause, that tiny hesitation right when you need power, felt like a punch to the gut. I’ve used Husqvarna stuff for years — chainsaws, trimmers — and generally thought they were solid. So this one felt like a surprise and a hassle, plain and simple.

Cold mornings, a stubborn pull cord, and a surprise bloom of power

heavy in a good way, solid balance, throttle response that when it worked made me smile. I cut down four aspen and bucked them for firewood and thought, okay, this is a serious saw. Then life happened and I moved to Alaska and brought the saw with me. That’s when the relationship got… weird.

    Done babysitting the mower

running multiple mowers on large grounds adds up quickly in cost and time. On the upside, there are times when the mower is quietly doing its job and I can actually enjoy a cup of coffee while looking at neat stripes. It’s pleasant, and I get a little thrill when it maps the area properly. But that’s mixed with frustration, phone checks, and occasional manual mowing with a ride-on to tidy the spots the robots miss. If you want less work overall, this may not be it. If you want quiet, incremental help and don’t mind babysitting tech now and then, it might still fit. We’re leaning toward simpler solutions for the long run.

The box looked perfect. The rest did not.

very nice hardware. Then I opened the app and things started to go sideways. Right away. The app wouldn’t behave like they advertised. That first evening I kept thinking, "Okay, this is new; updates will fix it," so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Turns out I was being generous.
