buying on a credit card let me open a claim, which finally prompted some action. Annoying experience overall.
Slow start, better sleep
I wasn't expecting much — had tried similar sleep buds that flopped — but I ordered these about six weeks ago to see if they'd help my light-sleeper routine. First night they felt a bit bulky and the highs were harsh, so I honestly thought I'd wasted my money. I kept them in for a few more nights, swapped to smaller tips (that helped a lot), and adjusted placement. After that, they started to feel snug and the noise isolation actually worked; the low-end sounds are mellow enough to mask the neighbor's TV. I reached out to support for a couple of setup tips; reply was slow but useful. Not perfect, some fiddling required, but now I sleep deeper most nights.
Return drama, surprisingly slow
don’t hold your breath waiting for a refund — it’s been months. I ordered a pair of Kokoon sleep headphones, tried them once, and they dug into my ears no matter how I fiddled — I swear my ears had a vendetta, so I sent them back right away. Support replied quickly with return instructions, courier scanned the parcel and confirmed delivery, and then radio silence. Almost five months later I still haven’t seen a refund or even a proper acknowledgement. I got one odd reply blaming Philips for making the model so popular that processes stalled — weird excuse, but also kind of proves they’re selling something good, because the sound was lovely on the first night. Anyhow, hang onto your proof of postage and be ready to escalate. I’d avoid buying again unless customer care improves.
Expensive experiment
they’re intrusive. If you’re a restless sleeper, you’ll notice. The audio itself is okay. Some of the soundscapes and guided meditations are pleasant and actually useful, and I do like a couple of the tracks. Problem is the masking — I can still clearly hear my partner snore and breathe beside me. It defeats the point for me. There’s also the sleep tracking. It claims I fell asleep in three minutes several times, which isn’t true; I was switching tracks and awake. So I don’t trust the data. If you like stats, take them with a grain of salt. Battery life is fine, the app design is neat, but between the fit issues and the tracking problems I keep wondering if I paid way too much for what’s essentially audio content bundled in a headset. I regret not checking reviews on other platforms first. I’m keeping them for now because I’m stubborn and because my insomnia makes me try anything. I’m already trying a different band as a backup. My advice: try them if you can test them first, or at least be prepared that they might feel uncomfortable and the sleep numbers may be off. I wanted hope, and I still do, but I’m underwhelmed. A bit disappointed.
