I recently tried out this online guitar and bass lesson subscription service for a whole year. Overall, I thought the lesson materials were pretty solid and really helped me out with learning. But I gotta say, I mainly play bass and mess around on guitar a bit, and I was kinda bummed about the setup. Having to buy two separate subscriptions to get lessons for both instruments was a pain and honestly, kinda silly. Plus, I noticed there was way more stuff for guitar players than bass players. Like, guitar folks got tons of jam tracks, while bass players only got a handful. It would've been way better if one subscription gave you access to lessons for both instruments. In the end, my time with the service was alright, but the difference in resources between guitar and bass was a big downside for me.
Guitar lessons review
I think the website is really helpful, especially the tools like the scales toolbox. I feel like how helpful JamPlay is really comes down to how much effort you put into it. Some instructors are awesome, but others might not be what you're looking for. It would be cool to have a section with tutorials for specific songs, especially from popular artists like Eagles, Beatles, and Clapton, to meet everyone's tastes. Overall, it's a good site that could get even better with some tweaks.
Online guitar lessons
I've been digging those online guitar lessons, man. The instructors are killing it with their content, and I've seriously leveled up my playing since I started. Even though I've only been at it for a little while, I'm blown away by the quality of teaching and all the different courses they offer. The only bummer is that the android app doesn't work with my Kindle, and there's no way to download videos to watch offline.
Year-long subscription
Of course, the deals are amazing during Black Friday, but man, trying to move around the website is a hot mess. You'll be wandering through a jumble of messy links and random content. It's like they've never heard of making things easy for users. But hey, for that low price, I guess I'll just suck it up and deal with it - at least for now.
Phil Keaggy Master Class purchase
I bought the Phil Keaggy Master Class on JamPlay and it's been frustrating because I haven't heard anything about when I'll actually get it. The delivery time has come and gone, but I haven't gotten any updates or notifications about what's going on. It's kind of a bummer and I'm pretty annoyed as a customer. I might just ask for my money back because of all the hassle. But hey, at least they responded quickly when I asked about my reference number.
Initial navigation difficulties
I just started today and I gotta say, I found the navigation to the next lesson kinda clunky. Instead of moving on to the next lesson, the one I just finished kept coming back up. I was also hoping to skip ahead a bit since I think I'm more advanced, but the site didn't make it easy. But I did like the teaching style of the instructors.
Guitar lessons
I've been doing some beginner guitar lessons lately and I'm getting the hang of it pretty well. I'm learning some important music theory stuff that my old teacher never taught me. My son gave those kid's lessons a shot, but he thought they were moving too quickly for his taste.
Speed improvement noticed
I was having some trouble with the site loading slowly at first, even though I had a fast connection. But after testing it again, it seemed to be working much better. So it looks like they fixed whatever the problem was.
