The cashback never showed, so I asked my rewards site in December to add it. Then I kind of forgot, and a year later in November 2023 it was still pending. Rewards told me NordVPN rejected the claim. NordVPN replied (four times) that the payment didn’t track and since I was past the 30‑day refund window they couldn’t do anything. Then the subscription auto‑renewed and I couldn’t cancel the charge. Compared to other companies that at least try to sort things out, this felt like being brushed off. Annoying, but I’m also a bit relieved I finally checked and got an answer — even if it was the wrong one. Lesson: screenshot everything with cashback offers.
Charge sorted, actually relieved
they explained the 30‑day trial, switched my renewal settings and refunded the extra month. That’s the moment I knew it would be fine — calm, no drama. Still wish the trial was clearer at checkout, and the price could be lower, but I'm glad it worked out.

the VPN itself ran fine most of the time, but the customer support made the whole experience a major headache. I realized that pretty quickly when my hardware security key stopped being recognized — that was the trigger. I had to reset the key and figure out how to re-add it to my account (a little annoying, but doable). Most services I use had fallback options or clear steps to restore access, but this provider did not make it easy. I spent hours reading help articles, trying different account recovery routes, and then emailing support with screenshots of my bank showing the charge and the order confirmation they sent me. Every reply from support asked for a specific receipt that lives inside the account I couldn't access. So there was this circular problem: show proof that lives behind the login you can't get into. I got stalled, repeatedly. The bot on the chat is basically useless — it asks the same things, suggests the same FAQ links, etc. After a long, pointless back-and-forth I finally reached a live person via the chat flow, and that agent unlocked the account right away, which was a relief and surprisingly fast once I actually got through to them. So yes, there is a functional team somewhere, but getting to them is hit-or-miss and takes too much time. Right now I'm still waiting on the verification emails for the backup codes; they supposedly send a code to my email but it never lands in my inbox or spam even after requesting it multiple times. My advice to the company: accept alternative proof like a bank statement screenshot, or provide a better out-of-account recovery path. My advice to others: keep copies of backup codes somewhere safe outside the service (I should have done that), and be prepared to spend time if something breaks. Small unexpected positive: once a live agent got involved they solved it quickly, so the support team can do good work — it's the process to reach them that needs fixing.
Dependable VPN
I just wanted to share that I've been using this VPN service and it's really come through for me in terms of keeping my online stuff safe. Overpriced VPN subscription

Lots of server options
There were a bunch of different servers I could pick from, which was nice. But then, my payment information got sent to some company I never heard of, and I couldn't cancel my account. Now, I can't even use the VPN that I paid for. Not cool, NordVPN!
