I love cruising — always have — so I was pretty bummed when this one started to feel wrong. I had a trip planned that skirts along the Gaza Strip and, after recent events, I got nervous and asked about cancelling because I just didn’t want to be anywhere near that area. My balance is coming due and I needed clarity. Two of the ports I actually booked this cruise for were switched on the November sailings, so honestly the itinerary I signed up for doesn’t really exist for me anymore. I went through my travel agent and the answer I got was that two port changes count as a “minor change” and that I’d lose my deposit if I cancelled. That felt...off. I mean, minor? Not to me — those two were the whole point of the trip. I’ve canceled before with another line when just one port changed during the Russia/Ukraine situation, so I know companies handle this differently. Dealing with the agent was fine — they were helpful, but the policy felt rigid and left me stuck. I’ll probably avoid rebooking with this cruise line, just to be safe; life’s unpredictable and I don’t want to risk losing money or being near something unsafe. Still love cruising overall, though — just wish the rules were a bit more reasonable when plans change for serious reasons.

The pool deck had a similar soap-opera vibe — comfy sunbeds with mattresses on day one, gone by day two. Excuses ranged from “wind” to “deck cleaning,” none of which matched what we saw. Drinks were shockingly expensive, and that automatic 18% service fee on every purchase? That burned. No package option either, so you feel nickeled-and-dimed pretty fast.
Still, it wasn’t a total disaster. A gal in guest services actually listened and got us a small onboard credit — not enough to erase the cold, but enough that later, when we were laughing about it, we didn't feel completely cheated. Also, one shore excursion was unexpectedly lovely, so there were bright spots. I left grateful for those moments, even if the main experience was rough.
If you’re considering this line: double-check cabin heating policies, bring a warm sweater (seriously), and insist on written follow-up for any reported problems. I wouldn’t book again without heavy research, but at least some people tried to make it right in the end — and that mattered.
