wifi, temperature, toilets. First hour I thought, yep, problems—no wifi the whole way, my six-person compartment stayed chilly because the A/C couldn't be turned down and one window didn't seal so cold air kept sneaking in. One bathroom tap didn't flow. Another bathroom was closed because of a broken toilet. Still, it wasn't a disaster. The ride was steady. Staff tried to help. Price was great. In the end my doubts faded enough that I'd try this route again next time.
Kinda surprised I survived the night
a cheap overnight to save a day of travel. Would be nicer if they fixed mattresses and cleaned more, but for short trips I’ll probably use it again (with earplugs and low expectations).
Late train, slow refund but it worked out
I booked the sleeper because my lower back was acting up and I wanted to avoid sitting all day. The train was an hour late and per their policy I was due 25% back. I filled the claim form and they told me reimbursement would take 8–10 weeks — felt ancient. I kept checking and messaged support a couple times; replies weren't instant but they were human and gave real updates, not just canned lines. It did take the full timeframe, but the refund showed up and was right. Delivery was annoying, process clunky, price a bit high for the hassle, yet the customer reps turned my skepticism into mild relief. I’d try them again if timings improve.
Mostly charming, slightly chaotic
go for the atmosphere, not the luxury or price. I took this service to Prague last month for a quick weekend trip and my first impression was oddly nostalgic — the carriage looked like something from an old movie, which I liked at first. Then small things piled up. A partial cancellation forced a full rebook; they gave a 20% voucher but the new tickets still cost more. On the outbound train the tap in our cabin didn’t work, nearby toilets were closed, and the Comfort seats felt like benches. On the return we got downgraded, got €25 back and no complimentary drinks, and the bed lights were out. Worst bit: we sat still for over three hours with almost zero info from staff, which was maddening. Still, crew were friendly, the departure was on time and the support desk helped a lot when rebooking. So yeah — fun in a weird way, would do it again for the experience, but bring patience and maybe earplugs. Also pack snacks and a charger.
Sleeper surprise on the night shift
I didn’t expect to become such a fan. I was sceptical at first — had a terrible short-haul flight once and my back was screaming for a better option — but after a few trips this train felt like a tiny, moving rescue. Cabins can be arranged different ways, which I love; sometimes we chatted, sometimes I curled up and read. Windows open, which sounds small but makes a huge difference. Sheets and pillows were clean. Toilets were tidy and never ran out of paper (honestly, that mattered to me). I tried the three sleeper classes and yeah, comfort plus is worth it for the extra space and the sink. Trains were mostly on time. Twice there was a half-hour delay — annoying, but not life-ruining given the distance. Delivery-wise — boarding and getting luggage handled — smooth. Customer service helped once when we needed a small change; polite and fast, no drama. So I went from doubtful to pleasantly surprised. Not perfect, but for me it beats flying, and I’ll keep choosing it when my back needs mercy.
