I needed this to book several ferry legs for a move; I hesitated because I wanted one booking for all days. Turns out it only lets you add up to four journeys, which didn't fix my problem. They also forced my cell number before confirming — still worried about spam, so doubts didn't go away.
Last-minute crossing that calmed me down
Needed a quick, low-stress crossing because my lower back's been acting up and I had a tight schedule after a delayed trip. I bought tickets online day of from Tarifa to Tangier, got the email and arrived an hour early. When they printed our tickets and boarding was smooth — I relaxed. Staff were fine, not very friendly, but no fuss.
Mostly sorted, one hiccup
I'm mostly happy with FerryHopper — we made the trip, so that's the important part. The booking asked for two names and I put both in, but they ended up using the same name twice. After an annoyed hour in chat someone fixed the outbound ticket, which was great, but they said the return couldn't be changed even though it was their error. I asked them to email the instructions they mentioned but never got anything. Used this for a quick weekend with my partner and some after-work errands, so it mattered. Kinda skeptical at first, ended up relieved.
Tentative but relieved
Halfway through unloading the trunk I hesitated — a guy at the desk had said the paid WiFi can be spotty and my friend had warned me too. I saw the WiFi option on the kiosk when I picked up the rental and debated paying £15 for four hours. I almost skipped it, but since it was my first time driving in Ireland and I needed maps for a road to Drogheda, I paid and felt nervous. At first it was annoying — maps took ages and pages loaded slow while I was still in the parking lot. After a quick reconnect and moving closer to a window the signal actually became usable; enough to set navigation, check a few routes and feel like I knew where I was going. It wasn’t blazing fast and there were still glitchy spots, but my doubts largely eased and I was relieved to get on the road. Decent enough for the trip, though price and speed could improve.
