The pump itself was easy enough to order and it arrived without any obvious issue. I installed it in my BMW 335i and, for a while, it did what it was supposed to do. Then it failed after roughly ten months. That is where the experience changed. The listing said there was a two-year warranty, so I contacted the seller through eBay expecting a replacement or at least a proper warranty process. Instead I was told the free replacement period had passed and offered another pump for 250 AUD. That doesn't line up with a two-year warranty, at least not how most buyers would read it. Being an overseas seller also made the whole thing harder to pursue from Australia. The price looked reasonable at first, but a water pump that quits that soon is not a bargain. I'd be careful with this one, especially if warranty coverage matters to you.
I Really Wanted These to Work
A guy at a local meet mentioned these, and I went in thinking the bad comments were probably people expecting too much from budget coilovers. Turns out my doubts were not the problem. The sway-bar link setup is just a bracket instead of a proper mounting point, and it can rotate with normal movement. That did not inspire confidence, especially once I noticed the driver-side bracket sat on the wrong side and could contact the tire, while the passenger side looked okay.
Caught before it became unsafe
The box was still sitting in my garage when I realized this was not going to be a simple install. I bought these coilovers because they were listed as compatible with BMW E39 models, and my car is an E39 535i. Nothing on the product page made it clear that my specific version was excluded, so I ordered based on that fitment information.
