the recordings feel lovely — warm, detailed, and musical in a way that lets you fake realism without constantly tweaking. The samples respond nicely under my fingers; some phrases even surprised me into keeping them. Programming is generally solid (Spitfire's hit-or-miss rep aside), though Core feels a bit... trimmed where it counts: missing a few articulations I actually reach for. What I'd really like is a middle option — buy extra articulations without being forced into the full 16-mic mammoth. Most of us don't need that many mics but do want more playing options. Only genuine gripe: the bassoon staccatissimo isn't as short and tight as I'd expect—compare to the short staccato in SSO bassoons and you'll notice. Hope future ARO solo bassoon patches tighten that up. Overall, good value when discounted; usable and pretty fun to play.
