Signify bought the company a while back and I braced for them to be dumbed-down or folded into something else. Turns out that didn’t happen — the bulbs feel solid, and the whole setup is more flexible now than when I bought the first one. Using them is straightforward; I don’t have to open the app to live my life, which I appreciate. Most of the time they act like regular bulbs that also happen to be smart. When I do use the app it’s usually for small automations — a sunrise schedule for slow mornings, or making a few color scenes for movie night. Lately the app added more tweakable options and that’s literally what was missing before, so I’m glad they kept improving it. I’ve saved scenes to the physical remote and the wall button so guests don’t get lost with the phone. There are hiccups: initial setup can be fiddly if your Wi‑Fi is moody, and sometimes a bulb reboots or needs a re-pair. Not perfect, yeah, but manageable. Price is fair — cheap enough to experiment without feeling silly. I recommended these to a couple coworkers; two of them ordered and came back saying the same thing: "Nice, simple, works." Overall I’m happy it turned out better than I feared, mildly annoyed by occasional quirks, but definitely satisfied enough to keep buying more around the house.
Replacement finally on the way, but it was a slog
ordering was easy, the price felt fair enough, but customer service could be faster and more straightforward, and delivery updates should be clearer. If you’re buying because a friend recommended it, go ahead, but expect to be persistent if something goes wrong. Glad it looks like it will be resolved, even if it took more effort than it should have.
