different bottles, labels you’d never see in the supermarket, and a couple of neat botanicals that actually made a difference in a G&T. The bottles sat nicely in the cabinet, looked good on the shelf, opened with a decent pop, and the gin itself felt balanced in the mouth — not too sweet, not too sharp. Some were subtle, some were punchier; I liked trying them in a simple tonic to really feel what they had to offer. That part — the drinking, the texture, the little tasting notes you jot down on the box — was enjoyable. It felt like tasting, not just drinking, and that’s rare in a monthly box.
