my Glaswegian husband treated the delivery like it was Christmas. We ordered the expat pack plus a couple extras because he misses Scottish grub out here on the south coast. Ordering was dead simple, the emails/texts kept us in the loop and they even gave a one-hour delivery window for the day we wanted — lifesaver because we could be home and get it straight into the fridge. Packaging was proper cold, nothing soggy, everything still chilled. We tried a few things for breakfast and ended up fighting over square sausage — honestly the best we've had in ages. There was a tiny tracking hiccup but customer service replied right away and calmed me down. Compared to other places that show up late or warm, this was pleasantly surprising. Will order again.
Reliable meat hookup
I'm really glad I found these guys — they've been dependable and excellent. I started ordering in 2022 and have done seven orders, roughly £800 total, and it covers almost all my meat. First impressions: easy website, good cuts, fair prices, and the packing is proper (my buddy used a box to line his camper, joke). A couple of tiny hiccups — one late delivery and one squashed pack — but nothing major. For someone in the sticks they're a big help.
Packing and delivery missed the mark
33 pm so the package had been away from Rendalls for roughly 25½ hours — meant to be next-day but it didn't feel like it. Six of the eight ice packs were completely melted and the other two had just slivers of ice. The internal temperature of the meat was right on the edge of the return threshold, so I almost rejected it. This isn’t the first time I’ve had thawed packs from them, so I left a note asking for extra coolant given the forecast; apparently that wasn’t followed. I had an order — a couple of chicken packs and other cuts, over £180 — so it wasn't cheap. I emailed Rendalls with temperature readings. Customer service did reply and pointed to the carrier timestamps, they acknowledged the issue but didn’t offer a meaningful fix. I'm skeptical now; I appreciate they engaged but packing and delivery need to improve before I’ll order again.
Good meat, sad box
the meat arrived still cold and with plenty of ice, but some of the softer stuff (cakes, bread) looked like it took a beating from the courier. I messaged customer service; they got back quickly and were reasonable about it, which helped. So yeah, not perfect — visual damage to baked goods was annoying — but the food itself did its job in our daily routine (easy dinners, better sandwiches). I’d order again because the quality makes weeknight cooking feel nicer, and the folks on the other end were helpful. But do invest in sturdier boxes or inner cartons — that would make the whole experience way smoother.
