Surprised, then satisfied — my new robotic mower

it feels solid. Not flimsy. The shell is a bit matte, not flashy, and the controls on the remote are straightforward. I was a little skeptical at first because I’d spent days pushing a mower across this yard before — it’s big and has some small slopes. The first full run convinced me: it gets through what I used to do in two or three sessions in one go. That was the moment my skepticism started to fade.
The unit I got is two-wheel drive. On the small hills in my yard it handles fine, not like a tractor but it doesn’t stall or get stuck. You can tow a small garden wagon behind it, which is handy for moving tools or trimmings from one place to another. I tested that the first week — works as advertised. No more hauling heavy stuff by hand every trip.
Cutting power surprised me. I took it out on a patch of city land once, where the grass was about 14 inches high. It didn’t choke. It chewed through it and left a decent finish. I’ve had long stretches of high grass that I was nervous about, and it cut down my overall cutting time a lot. One fully charged battery will cover my whole yard, which used to be a full day of work with the push mower. Battery life is decent; the mower charges to full in roughly 90 minutes from zero. The remote itself takes longer to charge — about six hours — but a charge lasts for multiple sessions.
There was a small hiccup initially: my mower had a minor issue that prevented it from running right out of the box. Customer support pushed a firmware update and walked me through a quick calibration. That fixed it. Their warranty and support felt solid — bumper-to-bumper standards, which I appreciate. Also, I added a hand control to the remote because without it I would sometimes accidentally turn the mower off when handling the remote. The hand control fixed that and made single-handed operation comfortable.
Cleaning is easy. There’s a port on top where you hook a garden hose and run it while the blades spin slowly. It clears grass build-up nicely. I still use a soft brush for stubborn bits and keep the top sensor clean — that sensor needs to be clear or the mower won’t behave right.
Safety features are good. The anti-crash sensors work well, and they stop the unit before it hits something. You can disable them for very tall grass, because otherwise the unit thinks it’s about to collide and won’t cut — though I don’t recommend turning safety off unless you know what you’re doing.
Couple things to note: I don’t use bagging so can’t comment on that function. Snow shovel attachments aren’t compatible with the two-wheel drive model. Overall, after the early doubt and a little setup pain, it’s been a real improvement. Makes yard work easier, saves time, and actually feels reliable.

    That aha lawn day

the grass actually looked like a lawn, and I didn't feel wrecked. It's not perfect; it misses a couple edges and needs an extra pass now and then. Customer service was really helpful and I told a friend.
