My old putter grip had been bothering me for ages, but after 25-plus years I figured changing it might feel strange. I stopped by the Shoreham store mostly because my hands were slipping a bit during longer rounds. Mark at the counter made the whole thing easy. I’d seen him there before, and he actually remembers customers, which is pretty rare these days. He didn’t pretend to know everything either; when he checked something, he just asked a colleague. Fair enough. He pointed out a couple of grip options without pushing the expensive one. The new grip feels much more secure and comfortable, honestly better than I expected.
The cart looked better than the stock
I knew this order was going nowhere when the confirmation changed into another message saying the items were unavailable. That was the third time this has happened to me here, so it no longer feels like a one-off inventory mistake. The prices get you onto the site, you pay, and then the discounted items apparently cannot be supplied. Meanwhile, there are still other things in the cart that can be bought, which leaves a pretty bad impression. Stock numbers do not need to be perfect, but they should be close enough not to take payment for unavailable products. I would rather see fewer deals and accurate availability. Refunds are fine, but repeating this is tiring.
Where Did My Driver Go?
Honestly, I started wondering whether my new driver had gone out for a round without me. I placed order AGGB-05199656 for a TaylorMade Qi10 Max Designer Series Blue White Driver on February 25 and paid extra for delivery within three days. By March 27, I called because nothing had arrived. I was told the package would be collected by the courier that afternoon, but no tracking email ever showed up. The order page still said “awaiting dispatch.”
Two club heads came off, then the emails stopped
The point where I knew I was done with this wasn’t even the first broken club. It was when the second iron failed in basically the same way and I realized this was probably not a one-off. I bought a set of TaylorMade M4 irons from American Golf for regular weekend rounds and the occasional range session. Nothing unusual, no abuse, just normal use. About five months after buying them, the head came off my 8-iron. I contacted American Golf expecting a straightforward solution, but they wanted the full set sent back and would not accept my attempt to reject the faulty item. Annoying, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt at that stage. Then, in October 2024, the 7-iron head came off too. Same sort of failure, different club. That was the moment I knew I wasn’t dealing with a random defect. By June 2025, I was still trying to get a proper resolution. Instead of a replacement or refund, I was offered store credit. That didn’t feel like a fair answer, especially after another club had failed. The return process also made things worse. One club came back with fresh scuffs and abrasion marks that were not there before I sent it in. I recorded the condition when it arrived, so I have video of that. What really stuck with me was the final written response in September 2025 saying the matter was concluded and that they would not reply further. So, two failed clubs, damage during their handling, and no resolution I considered acceptable. I have had to take the issue through my credit card provider and the Financial Ombudsman route. I don’t usually leave long reviews, but if you are spending decent money on golf equipment, it is worth knowing what the support experience may look like if something goes wrong.
