Two club heads came off, then the emails stopped September 25, 2026

The point where I knew I was done with this wasn’t even the first broken club. It was when the second iron failed in basically the same way and I realized this was probably not a one-off. I bought a set of TaylorMade M4 irons from American Golf for regular weekend rounds and the occasional range session. Nothing unusual, no abuse, just normal use. About five months after buying them, the head came off my 8-iron. I contacted American Golf expecting a straightforward solution, but they wanted the full set sent back and would not accept my attempt to reject the faulty item. Annoying, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt at that stage. Then, in October 2024, the 7-iron head came off too. Same sort of failure, different club. That was the moment I knew I wasn’t dealing with a random defect. By June 2025, I was still trying to get a proper resolution. Instead of a replacement or refund, I was offered store credit. That didn’t feel like a fair answer, especially after another club had failed. The return process also made things worse. One club came back with fresh scuffs and abrasion marks that were not there before I sent it in. I recorded the condition when it arrived, so I have video of that. What really stuck with me was the final written response in September 2025 saying the matter was concluded and that they would not reply further. So, two failed clubs, damage during their handling, and no resolution I considered acceptable. I have had to take the issue through my credit card provider and the Financial Ombudsman route. I don’t usually leave long reviews, but if you are spending decent money on golf equipment, it is worth knowing what the support experience may look like if something goes wrong.
