I really wanted to give this one the benefit of the doubt. We needed a proper bed for our child, and the Explorer Playhouse Bed looked like a fun, practical option at first. It was bought in August 2024, and even during assembly I wasn’t totally convinced by the materials. The wood felt pretty lightweight, the paint seemed easy to mark, and the whole frame had a bit more movement than I expected. Still, I thought maybe I was being overly picky.
More work than buying two beds should ever be
By the second day of staring at bed boxes in our hallway, I was honestly wondering why we hadn’t just gone somewhere local. We ordered two beds because our kids needed proper sleeping arrangements after we moved, and we thought getting everything delivered would make a stressful time a little easier. It did not turn out that way.
