Better than expected for my sore back

I needed this after my old one started aggravating my lower back, so I was a little cautious ordering online. The site was easy enough, though checkout felt a bit plain. What surprised me was how comfortable the product felt right away. It showed up earlier than expected too. Price was okay, not amazing.

    Great design, frustrating follow-through

I wouldn’t recommend this based on how it ended, which is a shame because I genuinely liked it at first. I ordered my first Coveroo OtterBox Symmetry case in January 2017 and was really happy when it showed up. The custom artwork looked sharp, the colors came out nicely, and for a while it felt sturdy enough for everyday use. Then, around six months in, the case itself started coming apart. That’s when the experience went downhill fast. I emailed customer service repeatedly over several months and never got a reply—not even a quick acknowledgment. Their site said email was the only contact option and that replies came within one business day, but that definitely wasn’t my experience. What made it more frustrating was seeing the one-year OtterBox warranty exception mentioned online. Nice designs, sure, but no help when something fails. I was disappointed.

    A month for a replacement?

I only ordered again because I needed a sturdier case after my last one cracked, and I figured third time might be different. Nope. It’s been almost a month, then I was told there were production delays, then that it would be rushed. Another week went by with nothing. Honestly, the communication is the frustrating part—I could’ve driven across the state by now.

The $6 wasn’t really the issue

I only ordered this because I needed a case for my 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro after my old one cracked during a move. The Disney design looked fun, the order process was easy enough, and the package actually showed up when it was supposed to. So at first I figured everything was fine. Then I tried putting the cover on and it was obviously not made for my laptop. It was way too large and looked more like it belonged on some generic Windows machine. Stuff happens, I get that. Sending the wrong item isn’t the end of the world if the company just fixes it without making the customer jump through hoops. I followed their return instructions and contacted support expecting a simple exchange. Instead, I was told I had to pay the return shipping because it was supposedly “customer error.” That part honestly rubbed me the wrong way. They even sent instructions explaining how to look up my MacBook’s serial number, which felt pretty condescending since I knew exactly what model I had ordered for. I still checked it, took a screenshot of the model information, and sent it over just to make sure there was no debate. It confirmed what I had said from the beginning. The case they sent did not match my computer. I asked for the correct cover and reimbursement for the return postage, since the mix-up wasn’t on my end. They agreed to refund the cover, but not the shipping, saying it was policy. Maybe it’s only six bucks, but that’s not really the point. The policy seemed to be applied in a way that left me paying for their mistake. Delivery was fine, and the site itself wasn’t hard to use, but the support experience made the whole purchase feel more annoying than it needed to be. I’d probably buy something similar through a retailer with easier returns next time.
