I posted this on the Colt Forum:
I just noticed that Mike Heffron has posted his website to this forum. I dealt with him about 2009. I sent him 3 Colt Official Police revolvers for timing and tune work. I also sent him a Sako rifle as advanced payment for the work. After about 2 years of failed promises of completion of the work I received 2 of my revolvers back. During that time I talked to other members on this forum that had trouble getting their revolvers back also. But the Colt Official Police with serial number 852913 was never returned. I would caution anyone who is thinking of doing business with him. “He has never attempted in 11 years to make restitution for this fraud.
So can you trust him to do business with? BewareAntique Winchester
The folks at Guns International are such a pleasure to work with. I had a very honest and transparent transaction that involved shipping back and forth of valuable items for evaluation and sale. There were no issues at all and David was so helpful above and beyond what was expected. I will definitely do business again with them both buying and selling.

My advise to all that have purchased and gotten ripped off, buy from a Federal Fire Arms licensed carrier only, most of them I've found are honest. Or ask one to hold the gun in escrow before you send the check.
Remington 700
BEWARE Ray Sophy! I bought a Rem. 770 and It was never delivered and now he wants to deduct multiple shipping charges from a refund. We will see if I see any of my money in a refund.
Winchester 94 bicentennial
My first attempted to purchase from GI was a terrible experience with the seller, Dave Kemp(New Hampshire). Initiqlly, I made a lower but I thought reasonable offer but he insulted me in his reply. Then I apologized if I had offended him and offered the asking price, and this time he agreed. When I made a simple request for him to email his FFL credentials to my FFL, he refused and insulted me again and hung up on me. All caught on emails!! After that, because I really wanted the rifle, I asked my FFL to reach out to him to facilitate the deal, and he blocked me from buying the rifle through my FFL. He apparently decided he wasn’t going to let me buy the gun! Was I unreasonable in asking him to email his credentials to my FFL? Was his cut throat response excessive and unreasonable?

Model 70
I recently purchased a rifle on Gunsinternational. It was described by the seller (David Lawrence 37087 Lebanon, Mt. Juliet TN) as "original and correct in every respect", retaining "99% original finish" on the barrel. After the three-day inspection period had passed, I discovered an issue with the rifle. I then delivered it to one of the nation's more prominent Pre64 Winchester model 70 experts for inspection. He concluded his Letter of Authenticity by stating the rifle "has been restored to closely resemble the original finishes" but "neither the stock finishes nor the metal finishes are factory original".
I subsequently wrote Deb Powell, co-owner of Gunsinternational and asked a simple question: are there consequences for a seller if the item sold is discovered--after the three-day inspection period--to be not as described? I've waited over two weeks, sent a follow up reminder after the first week, and still have received no answer. So, I'm left to conclude, any lesson to be had here would be shouldered by the buyer, and the seller, presumably, goes on with business as usual.
Friendly advice--buyer beware with these people.Your last email to me was as follows: "Thank you for such a speedy and in-depth reply. Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience with a seller, but I’m trying to work through it with him. Depending upon how the situation resolves, you may or may hear back from me. Thanks again for your help.

I purchased a gun from Raymond Earl Sophy, Haywood Shooting Supply in Kentucky. It was never delivered, He would only deal in a check, He claimed to be hearing empaired so could not talk on the phone. I am out 1083 dollars no gun.
We have no record of this complaint. This is a very serious accusation. For the 14 years that GunsInternational.com has been in business we have never had a buyer pay for a firearm and simply not receive it. This is a Federal Firearms Dealer and they can not simply sell firearms and not deliver. Please email in the details so the issue can be explored with the seller. support@gunsinternational.com

seller was pat mckune. we were told that the gun was in perfect condition. upon receiving it i could not get the gun to assemble properly. the forearm would not lock on as it should and discovered a crack in the forearm. called the mckune’s that i would be returning the gun and would expect a refund. told ok when they received the gun. once the gun was back to them, they insisted that i damaged the gun. WRONG!! that’s the way i received it. after deciding that he wasn’t true to his word and there would be no refund i directed him to return the gun to me. now i’m stuck with an inoperative shotgun. also, found it very odd that no invoice was provided with the gun when delivered and they were very reluctant to provide me with one. i would not recommend anyone do business with this guy and would hope guns international would dig into this and sanction him in some way.
Randy,
Hello! I see no record of this complaint in the sellers account. Would you please email in the details so the issue can be explored.
Thank you,

I bought a Rifle from Jacob Hranowsky . The gun was advertised as Excellent condtion. Factory original. I paid for the gun the money was there in 3 days. I waited 9 days and called Jacob and ask when I would receive the gun he said he would get it out the next day. i finally got a tracking #. I got the gun and opened it to find it was terrible. The chamber and barrel was very dirty I don't think it was ever cleaned . It looked like someone tried to bed the barrel and action in JB weld . I call him right away and said i wasn't happy with the gun that I would be returning it. He wasn't happy but the gun was not as advertised. After 10 days i called and asked where my money was he said i need your name and address really!!!. then he shorted me $ 60 dollars. I called him he said it was a mistake that he would sent the rest . I been waiting a month. I call Guns International for help . They told me I was the 3rd or 4th complaint. Still waiting to hear anything. I have bought 2 guns and my brother has bought several on this site this the first problem.
I would buy from Guns International again if they would enforce there 3 day return policy on Jacob Hranowsky.
Hello! The 3 day return policy was enforced. Was the $60 for shipping? Did the seller agree to refund shipping as well? Below is the complete 3 day return policy form GunsInternational.com.
Return Policy Guidelines of GunsInternational.com Unless the buyer and seller agree to modify, as may be the case in a new gun, layaway and for used guns it must be clearly marked in the listing as No Return, the return policy is three (3) calendar days from the day the item(s) are received by the buyer or delivered to the FFL acting for the buyer. The item may be returned for any reason, but the buyer must notify the seller within the three (3) calendar day inspection period. The buyer must start the return within the next four (4) calendar days to receive a complete refund, less all shipping, transaction fees and FFL charges. In other words shipping must start within one week of receipt of the item(s). The return shipping must be of equal shipping level, including insurance i.e... Priority, Express, Blue Label etc. The return item MUST be in the same condition as when shipped to the buyer. This is an inspection period only, a gun is not to be fired or disassembled. Sellers written permission is required to allow the buyer to take down a takedown model during the inspection period. Upon the receipt and inspection of the returned gun, the seller agrees to issue a prompt refund. Recommendation: Confirm purchase with all details via the Contact Seller form within the listing and print out the listing for your records. Any modification of the 3 day return policy must be in writing by both buyer and seller.

Sam,
Thank you for taking the time to write this comment. As you know the most well respected Dealers in the country, from Cabelas - Bass Pro to the small specialty firearms Dealers and Manufacturers advertise their firearms and parts on GunsInternational.com. There are also many quality collectors advertising their firearms and and parts for sale. We are the only website that is an all verified seller website and that encourages direct contact between buyer and seller, allowing a buyer to ask any and all questions regarding the firearm or to request additional photos. In addition, we are the only sales marketplace that has live support. If a buyer has a question regarding a seller they can reach out to us for sales history.
Thanks Again,
