    Not going back — zero sympathy

    I won’t be buying from them again. We lost our 20-year-old cat a few days ago and I still had an automatic refill of 50 mg gabapentin arrive — unopened — because I had plenty left. I offered to return the box, explained what happened, and asked for a refund. They flat-out refused. That felt... cold. Meanwhile Chewy and Covetrus refunded me immediately and even suggested donating the meds to a shelter; Chewy sent flowers, which honestly meant a lot. I picked this vendor only because they were the only place I could find 50 mg tablets — everything else was 100 mg capsules that are awkward to split for a tiny senior cat. I get costs and policies, but there’s a difference between rules and basic compassion. I give my meds daily to help him stay comfortable, and after we lost him I hoped for a little human response. So yeah, practical reasons I used them, but their response turned me off entirely. Sad about the cat and annoyed at how business was handled.

    Nearly lost my dog over a recalled bag

On the flip side, before this incident the food had been doing its job and the staff at the front desk were friendly when I showed up at the clinic. So it's not all doom and gloom — they have some things right — but for anything that affects an animal’s health, automatic recall alerts should be standard. If you use this place, double-check lot numbers and call to confirm your batch, keep receipts, and maybe have a backup food source just in case. I wish they’d fix their communication system; that would go a long way. For now, I’m wary and I’m telling others because nobody should end up scrambling like we did.

    Sick cat meds

    Oh man, my cat was seriously struggling because Heartland took forever to send the medicine! I ordered it on May 5th and didn't get it until May 15th - can you believe that? Ten whole days of my poor kitty suffering while I was freaking out. I even had to call them twice just to figure out where the meds were. Not cool, Heartland, not cool at all. They really need to get their act together if they want to be helping sick animals!
