    Pleasantly surprised

    I’m pretty happy with how it was handled. I first saw the item after a friend texted me the link and bought it on a whim. They did charge my card right away even though the site said restock 7/21/11, then emailed it wouldn’t ship until about 8/18/11. I asked to cancel and they processed the refund — glad it wasn’t a fight.

    Hidden duties ruined the deal

    check import fees first. I bought a medical device after a friend pointed me to their website. Seemed straightforward. Paid the product price, paid shipping, went through checkout. Nothing about duties showed up. FedEx dropped the box off — handed it to my wife — and said nothing about extra charges. Then I got a bill in the mail for import duties that nearly matched the device price. I contacted the seller (Medex) and heard nothing back. I called FedEx and they gave me an email to dispute it, so I’m trying that now. I would have refused the delivery if I’d known. The device itself looks fine, and I might recommend the product, but the buying experience was messy. Buyer beware. I first saw this listed on their site after my friend mentioned them, so I blame the checkout info for the main problem.

    Surprise duty bill made this messy

    the gadget does what it should and my back actually feels better, but the buying process was a headache. I needed this after months of nagging lower‑back pain and figured ordering online would be easiest. Paid for the item, paid what looked like taxes and shipping at checkout — then FedEx drops the package off (they handed it to my wife, no mention of anything) and later mails a separate invoice for import duties that almost doubled the cost. Medex didn’t warn me at checkout that duties might apply and when I messaged them I never got a reply. FedEx gave me an email to dispute it, so I’m trying that route. I’m relieved the device works and I’m glad it helped, really — just annoyed at the surprise bill and the silence from the seller. Felt a bit ambushed by paperwork, but at least the pain’s better.

    Small win, messy ride

    apparently a second tracking number showed it returned to sender. I asked for details and they said they'd forward info — never got it. The last person I spoke with seemed flustered and not super helpful, which sucked. In the end the package arrived and the item is fine, which is why I'm not leaving a terrible review. Still, the communication needs work. If you can tolerate a little chase, you'll get what you ordered. But be ready to follow up.

    I received two items that didn't match what was advertised. One was the wrong color and the other was way too small.
