tracking updates could've been clearer. Still, felt relieved and would use them again. Not wild, but I'm satisfied.
Finally fixed
I didn’t expect to be relieved, honestly. I called a few times after the ice maker died 14 months in. Pressed option 4 for warranty/service and got cut off, pressed option 1 same thing, tried an extension and left voicemail — no reply for a day, I assumed their 'customer service' was a myth. Then out of nowhere they called back, booked a tech, and when he arrived with the exact part and fixed it in 20 minutes I relaxed. Not a smooth start, but that little surprise sealed it.
New machine, same old headaches
First glimpse of this 30” ice maker was on Restaurant Supply’s site — a coworker actually flagged it to me, said it looked solid and fit our walk-in. We had it delivered and my tech, V, spent about two hours installing it, following every step in the manual. The thing felt hefty and well-built, controls seemed straightforward, so I was honestly surprised when it didn’t make a single cube in the first 12 hours. We called support the next day, were told tech would call back — that never happened — so we called them again. Eventually a tech confirmed the unit was faulty and sent a local repair guy. That tech took six hours just to diagnose, then said a part needed to be ordered. Four days between reports and no ice in the bin. What’s odd is the machine otherwise looks and feels like good quality — metalwork, seals, the controls — so it’s frustrating that a brand-new component failed. We asked Restaurant Supply for a replacement unit since it arrived dead, but they insisted on repair only. So here we are, without ice for a week, dealing with back-and-forth and no real ownership from the seller. If you’re buying, be ready for a long tech shuffle if something’s wrong; on the plus side, the build gives me hope it’ll run fine once fixed — assuming parts and patience line up.
When the refund finally hit
document everything and don’t be shy about escalating. Read reviews first. Also, keep receipts.
