I bought this collar expecting it to be one of those “buy it once and forget about it” things. You know, nice leather, decent hardware, supposedly made to hold up for everyday dog life. Mine barely made it through two months before it started looking like it had survived a shipwreck. The leather began peeling and cracking, and the metal parts turned dull and green. My dog is not exactly wrestling alligators in the backyard, either. No swimming, no sprays, no leather treatments, no mud baths, nothing unusual.
