Home electricity monitoring device
So, one day my home insurance company randomly decides to partner up with this other company to give me a home electricity monitoring device for free. I was like, really? Insurance companies don't just hand out freebies. But I checked out all the details, and I figured I'd give it a try. The setup was easy and now I can check on my home's electricity usage in real time using an app on my phone. This thing even detects weird power issues, sends me reports every week, and will cover up to $1,000 if I need an electrician. It's not perfect, like no desktop app and it doesn't work with home automation, but I'm feeling pretty good about what it could do.
