confusing flows, poor feedback, and the support back-and-forth took too long. I needed a reliable place to try out auction buys after seeing that video, but this experience made me wary. I’m mildly annoyed and kind of disappointed — I wanted to find a fun deal, not spend time disputing phantom purchases and changing cards. Wouldn’t recommend without major fixes.
Thought it was a deal — turned out not quite
I tuned into one of their live sales because the promo sounded too good — £25 off a £100 order — and yeah, I hesitated. The ad said “£100 order minimum (excluding shipping). Good for in-show purchases only.” That wording felt...ambiguous, honestly, and I figured I'd ask in chat. No clear answer, so I took a chance. Watched the stream, clicked through, spent over £100 across a few little buys from the same seller, applied the code in my wallet since I’d already paid for it, and nothing happened. Customer support told me afterwards that every purchase in the livestream is treated as a separate order, so the coupon only applies if a single item is £100+ — not a basket total. That detail wasn't mentioned anywhere obvious. I’ve dealt with promos before, some sketchy, some fine; this one falls into the sketchy pile. I’m annoyed because live shows are meant for multiple small finds, and the wording strongly implies total spend counts. Maybe some people would spot the fine print, but I didn't, and I wouldn’t have splurged otherwise. So my original doubts didn’t go away — in fact they were confirmed. Not a disaster, but definitely misleading and could be clearer. I'll be more careful with live deals from now on.
Mid-unboxing surprise
the app itself is easy to use and I like the community vibe, which is why I bothered to try resolving things instead of just walking away. Emotionally, it left me annoyed but not burned out — I’ll try the app again, just with more caution about certain sellers. If Whatnot ever tightens up seller accountability and protects buyers properly, I’ll update this and gladly boost my rating. For now, buyer beware and double-check seller history.
Mixed bag, mostly problems
some freebies, a couple of low-cost buys that showed up. But the promotional credit they advertise turned into more hassle than help. The $15 credit isn’t an instant discount — you have to hit a minimum spend and then wait. I had to spend another $20–30 before that credit even triggered, and then it took about a week to appear in my account. So no real immediate relief on cost, which was annoying since I was short on cash after the move.
Live-auction mix-up, but a decent finish
the seller said no and then shipped the package two days later. That was annoying and felt rigid, but what made me actually feel satisfied came later, oddly enough. I explained I wasn’t trying to get a freebie, offered to refuse delivery or return unopened, and escalated the issue through the platform. The platform rep — not immediate, took a couple of contacts — finally agreed to a clear return label and reimbursement for shipping. It wasn’t smooth, and I had to follow up more than I wanted, but once the return was picked up and the refund posted, I realized that the system can work if you push it. Small surprise: the refund showed up faster than the promised time once they confirmed receipt. So even though the seller’s first reaction was no, the combination of the platform stepping in and that quicker-than-advertised refund is what switched my mood from annoyed to satisfied. Lesson learned: bid carefully in live auctions, and if you mess up, contact the seller immediately and be persistent with customer support. If you’re looking for a seamless cancellation, this isn’t it, but if you want a workable path to fix a human mistake, there is one — just expect a bit of hassle. I tipped a friend about the overall experience because they asked, and I told them the same: act fast, be clear, and don’t assume no is the final answer.
Unexpectedly relieved, actually
I was half convinced this would be a headache. I had been out of the country and my partner was pulling packages in for us, which usually works fine, but I’d read a few sketchy reviews and kept thinking “uh oh.” So yeah, I hesitated before ordering more sneakers for the family. I thought about other times companies ghosted me or made returns impossible. That doubt hung around.
