I opened my bank app and did a double-take when I saw a recurring $20 charge from Bonanza — no heads up, no opt‑in, just there. I've listed here on and off for years; putting up items is easy and the site works fine for casual stuff, but that surprise fee really changed my mind. I average maybe one sale every couple months on this site, so $20 a month wipes out the tiny profit I make — I literally wouldn't have agreed to it. I filed a dispute and paused my listings until it's fixed. I'm already shifting stuff back to other platforms where I get steady sales and clearer billing. Not a disaster as a marketplace, but the opaque charges and slow support made this more trouble than it’s worth.
Tired of the silence
the silence. I get platforms are messy, but ignoring a seller who lost money feels off. Also, they've started forcing you into their postage system and it costs more if you don't preload an account — annoying and nickel-and-dime. On the plus side the site still brings buyers, listings work and I still moved stuff. Not perfect, and I reported things to the AG and tried BBB, but overall I'd say it's usable if you don't expect solid support.
Small wins, then a weird monthly charge
the messaging system and shipping labels actually worked fine, better than I expected. Still, that surprise charge killed the vibe and I’m switching my small inventory back to the sites that actually match my volume.
A messy refund, but lesson learned
almost-daily emails asking me to take down the review, and once they emailed me from a private address — not through the marketplace. That made me uneasy; it felt like Bonanza had handed over my contact details, which seems wrong. I asked support how to edit or remove my review and got the same canned reply twice, no real help.
Bottom line: the site works as a place to buy and you can get your refund, but privacy and support left me annoyed. If you're buying here, save receipts, screenshots, and be ready to push back.Stuck $33.91 and an odd billing move
I actually liked that USPS picks up ground packages from my house — saves me a trip — but that didn't help when Bonanza froze $33.91 in a shipping reserve and refused to give it back. They encouraged me to keep a balance on their shipping platform for discounts, said I could withdraw whenever, then the withdraw link throws an error. I had a tiny seller fee of $7.95 come up and instead of waiting for the normal billing date they charged me right away, which made the whole reserved-funds thing worse. I opened support, talked to their rep (they used a cheerful title), and got a flat refusal to refund the reserve. It's not huge money, I'm not dramatic about that, but it's the principle and the awkward way they managed it. If you plan to prepay for shipping discounts here, be aware you might need to fight to get that money back. On the plus side, USPS pickup continues to work for me so shipping itself is easy — that part is actually handy — but their internal billing and refund promises feel unreliable. I'll probably move listings elsewhere unless they sort this out.
Store disappeared, refund changed things
it showed the problem wasn’t totally ignored. I told a friend who runs a small shop to watch billing settings — she liked the heads-up.
Wrong tent, weird box, slow fix
if you’ve been burned by sketchy marketplaces before, you might be extra cautious here. In the end I’m relieved it was sorted, though I’d shop elsewhere next time.
Unexpected charges, but still hopeful
this billing mix-up annoyed me, but I'm sticking around to see how it gets fixed. I used to sell on the site casually — evenings after work, a few vintage tees and craft bits here and there. I closed my shop when a supplier folded and came back months later to import new inventory. I never picked a premium plan. I honestly thought the old pay-on-sale setup still applied. So when an unexpected charge showed up I was surprised. I paid it through PayPal, shut my booth down like the confirmation email said to do, and figured that would be it. Then a second charge landed for listings that were only live for a couple hours. That felt wrong. I have no active listings and no sales. It's a headache. I checked for notices. I didn't get any clear messages about a new monthly fee structure. Their social pages seem quiet, and reaching out hasn't been smooth. Still — I like the platform for casual selling. It fits into my weeknights after dinner, helps clear out the garage, and sometimes I make enough to cover a few bills. So I'm hopeful support will sort this. I've opened a ticket and emailed. If they handle it cleanly I'll update and maybe relist sooner than later. For now my take is: useful site, clunky billing experience, support needs to be clearer. Fingers crossed they'll make it right.
Buyer-friendly, seller beware
they add $2 to your account when you buy shipping, but when you use it they take another $2 on the next label. So you never actually get that money back. It feels like a loop to push people into using their service. If Bonanza really had the best shipping prices, they wouldn’t need that nudge, right? Side note: I’ve had better straightforward experiences on places like eBay or Etsy in the past, at least when it comes to seller fees and transparency. Still, for buying, I’d go back — the checkout was easy, the item arrived, PayPal covered me, and that moment of “this worked” was enough. Selling? I’d be cautious and compare everything first. So yeah, buy with confidence if you use PayPal, but as a seller, read the fine print and don’t assume the shipping deal is actually a deal.
New headphones
I got these really awesome headphones, but when they came, they were totally messed up! They were scratched and didn't work right. I contacted the seller, but they weren't helpful at all. I even said I'd send the headphones back, but they still wouldn't refund my money.
Fake pharmaceutical purchase
I recently bought something I thought was Biotin, but it turned out to be fake! It ended up being from China, so who knows what was in it. Lesson learned - always gotta check where things are coming from before using them. Ouch!
High-quality products at competitive prices
I went shopping at this store not too long ago and I have to say, I was really impressed with the awesome products they have and how affordable they are. They've for sure established themselves in the market by offering great stuff at great prices. I was pleasantly surprised by all the choices they had and how much bang I got for my buck.
Bed purchase
I bought a bed from this store not too long ago, and let me tell you, it was amazing. But we ran into a little problem with it not fitting right at first. I told the owner, and they quickly set up for someone to come fix it within 4 days, even though it was a holiday weekend. The bed is top-notch quality, and the delivery service was quick and the delivery guys were really nice. All in all, I'm really happy with how everything turned out, and I'd definitely think about coming back here for another purchase, especially for my son's bed.
First-time order with an online marketplace
So, I just tried ordering something online for the first time, and honestly, it was a bit of a mess. I got an email saying my stuff was coming from some other company, which was a surprise. And then the online store tells me they aren't working with that company anymore, so I'm basically on my own to sort things out with the seller. I was pretty upset because they didn't give me any help or support. It's not cool for a business to handle things like this, it just causes a lot of headaches and hassle for the customer.
Recent account shutdown
I'm really upset right now because my account got completely deleted out of nowhere. I've been a customer for a long time, so it's really frustrating and unprofessional to have this happen without any explanation. When I tried to get some answers from customer service, all they gave me was a generic response saying they couldn't tell me anything. This lack of transparency and communication is not okay, and it's making me feel confused, disappointed, and angry.
Refunded purchase
I had the worst time with this company. I waited for my order for over a month, but the seller went totally MIA and didn't bother replying to any of my messages. I had to go through PayPal to dispute the charges and finally get my money back. It was such a frustrating and let-down experience.
Selling on Bonanza
I've been selling on Bonanza for a few years now and it's been pretty cool. I don't get as many sales as on eBay, but hey, who wants to put all their eggs in one basket, right? Most of my sales come from Google Shopping, so it's super important to make sure you list your items correctly. What I do wish is that they would let us sellers remove PayPal as a payment option once we've got Stripe activated. Stripe is way better and has lower fees, while PayPal is just expensive and has zero customer service. Come on, Bonanza, get with it!
App availability inquiry
I tried to ask if they had a seller app available before I signed up. Instead of a clear answer, I just got a dismissive response that didn't even address my question. Their customer service is so bad, it really makes the whole company look bad. No wonder people are saying they're scammers!
Cutting tools purchase
I found some really awesome cutting tools on this online store that's different from the rest. It's nice and simple, but it gets the job done. The customer service folks were amazing when I needed help. They made sure everything was perfect for me and my awesome tools. If you're selling things on other websites, you should definitely give this place a shot!
Missing order
My first time ordering from Bonanza was a letdown. I was really looking forward to my order showing up, but it never did. I tried contacting the seller a bunch of times, but they never got back to me. Feeling frustrated and not sure what to do, I decided to reach out to Bonanza for help.
