the benches sit well, a lot of the cardio machines give you that smooth belt feel, and the free weights have a nice, predictable balance. I noticed right away which machines are the reliable ones — some are hit-and-miss but the ones that work feel great for a proper session, and that matters when you want to get through a circuit without fuss.
A weird mix of decent gear and clueless staff
"I don't know." Then I heard whispering in the back and suddenly it's "sometime this week, maybe Monday." That kind of flip-flop happened a lot. The staff spends more time in little chats than noticing someone waiting. I stood there two times, and twice someone finally looked up like I had slowly materialized. It felt like being invisible. As someone who works in customer service, I kept thinking: train them, please. It’s not rocket science. Still — there was a bright moment. One afternoon a trainer actually stopped what they were doing and helped me tweak a deadlift form cue that actually fixed my swing. Helpful, brief, and honest. That alone made me keep coming back for a week. So yeah, the gym itself can deliver — equipment, space, quiet-ish hours — but the front-desk chaos drags it down. The manager never returned my call about paying them directly, which was irritating. Little things like conflicting info in emails and staff who don't seem trained add up fast. Bottom line: decent value if you just want a place to lift and you don't mind the customer-service headache. But if you like clear communication and people who answer the phone, save the $20 and sign up somewhere that isn't a small mystery every time you try to do something as simple as pay.
Half-wary, then relieved
I was about halfway through the whole mess when I had that small, stupid moment of relief — you know, the one where you realize things might actually get fixed. A friend had suggested this gym; she swore by the trainers, so I showed up more skeptical than excited. At first it felt like a revolving door of coaches and a billing system that clearly didn’t like me. Trainers left, new ones came, one of them kept telling me to eat carbs (which made me laugh nervously) and another just didn’t click. I kept thinking I’d made a rash call signing up, and for a while I was sure I’d regret it.
