Feeling let down after a rough claim
So here's the deal — I insured two rescue kittens right after we brought them home, thought it would give me peace of mind. Signing up was fine, actually quick enough, and for small vet visits it did what it said. Then one kitten got an infection and, sadly, didn’t make it. Our vet clearly said it wasn’t related to the worms they’d been treated for, even wrote to the company twice — twice — but the insurer kept calling it a pre‑existing condition. It felt like they were buying time, making us fight for something that seemed straightforward. I switched the other kitten to a different provider and we’re looking at the ombudsman now. Not everything about the policy was bad, but their claim handling left me pretty frustrated.

ask, and get in writing, how out-of-hours costs are handled — and be ready to push back if you care about getting what you paid for.
