It started as one of those slow-motion headaches. My dad, 70, lands at LAX after a 16-hour flight from Dubai. Customs holds him up. Luggage gets moved. He and his 77-year-old relative wander the terminal trying to figure out where it went. They ask staff. Someone points them to the information desk. The woman there is honestly lost. First she says come back tomorrow — which would’ve been a 1.5 hour drive each way for them — then she says try calling the airline. They call. Nobody can say. So two older folks are pacing, asking different people, getting mixed signals, and yeah, it drags on for about an hour and a half. I kept thinking, this is embarrassing for LAX. I’ve dealt with rude or slow airport staff before, but this felt different — more chaotic. The relief hit when a single employee finally knew the story. He pointed out the room behind the New Zealand departure desk, where the Dubai desk used to be. There it was. The bags. When they actually got the luggage, you could see the tension drop. I’m mildly annoyed by the whole runaround, and I reported it to lawa.org, but at least that moment of getting the bags made it worth mentioning.
Rocky pickup, decent ride after all
I walked out of baggage claim at LAX and there it was, the AVIS counter — my travel agent had booked it all, so I thought this would be easy. It wasn’t, at least not at first. There was a long line, the agent at the desk confirmed aloud that everything was prepaid and insured (my whole group heard it), but the car wasn’t ready when it was finally our turn. When we did get the keys the first car reeked of weed, which was awkward and gross, so back to the desk we went. Credit where it’s due: they swapped us into another vehicle without much fuss. The replacement actually drove nicely — comfortable seats, smooth enough on the highway, and the infotainment was straightforward. I used it for a few days driving around town and it felt reliable, nothing fancy but solid for a rental trip. The annoying part that stuck with me was finding a big, unexpected charge after we got home — over a thousand bucks for insurance and fuel that my agency had already prepaid. That sucked and I had to dig into it, call, dispute, the usual headache. So yeah, not perfect by any stretch; slow pickup, that first car was gross, billing was a mess. But the second car itself did the job and the staff did replace it when I complained, which I appreciated. If you’re using an agent, check your paperwork on the spot and keep an eye on your bank afterwards. I’d go back cautiously — it works, just be ready to watch for mix-ups.
About Airport LAX
Most airports derive a substantial income from parking. Parking is one of their most valuable assets. Asides from the fact that parking is an important source of revenue for airports, an airport cannot derive such revenue if they do not possess the essential airport parking facilities, and thus, it is imperative for an airport that wishes to thrive via airport parking to have the needed facilities and equipment and services, as they are important for the airport's smooth operation. Travelers count on the airports to be able to provide a parking space for them near their terminal so they can get to their flights. Though this is what is required, some airports either do not possess enough parking space for travelers and as such travelers are left with the option of looking for alternative parking space or that the airport does not carry out such services, which is rarely heard. Nevertheless, most flight passengers find it difficult to secure a parking lot either because of the lack of space or the high price tag attached to it. This has resulted in Airport LAX being an alternative for passengers. Airport LAX claims to focus on offering parking lots to passengers. But do they have a good track record? Are their services reasonably priced? We suggest you read honest customer reviews of Airport LAX here to get suggestive answers to your questions.
