I first heard about Awin/ShareASale from a buddy in a marketing Slack group — he swore it was legit, so I signed up even though I had doubts. I worried about policies, account freezes, all that. Those worries kind of melted away after a year and a half of steady growth and real sales — over $150k credited to their network and a long list of happy advertisers (600+ approved partners). It felt like validation. Then, out of nowhere, the rug was pulled. My account got suspended. There was about $6,800 in pending commissions and no clear reason given. I filed an appeal, politely, thinking it would be sorted. Instead they used the appeal as a reason to terminate our ShareASale access too. No evidence, no warning, no real explanation. That feeling of trust evaporated fast. I’m still a bit stunned and honestly frustrated — not just about the money but the lack of transparency. I want a fair review and the commissions released. If you’re considering this route, keep receipts, document everything, and don’t assume long history buys you protection. I’m hoping this gets fixed, and yeah, I’m a little sad and annoyed about it all.

this network cost me time and money, and I wouldn’t recommend relying on them for steady affiliate income. I used Awin to monetize a small travel blog and side projects — weekend posts, a few PPC experiments I never even launched, and steady promotion of vacation rentals. At first it seemed fine, but the payout reality was messy. I earned around £500 promoting one partner, but the payments trickled in as tiny chunks over many months (think £70 here and there), often after long waits and vague “there are some issues” replies. Still, I kept plugging away because the site traffic depended on those commissions. Then things got worse when I asked a partner a simple question about their PPC rules. Rather than answer, they suspended my account, accusing me of plans to run PPC. I hadn’t run any ads yet — I was clarifying policy to avoid banned terms — and I told Awin that. They admitted mistakes internally but didn’t lift the suspension or help get me reinstated. Later I found out I was permanently banned with no clear explanation and no actual email telling me why (I checked). The timing was bad because I was due a payout that day. I’m actually relieved this happened sooner rather than dragging on, because I would have burned more hours chasing answers and, possibly, lost more money. If you’re considering Awin: go in expecting slow, frustrating communications and be ready to argue over emails. Use it only if you can absorb delays and account risk. There are better networks with clearer policies and quicker support — and that matters when you depend on affiliate checks to cover running costs.
