I almost didn’t renew because I’d read a bunch of horror stories about support being unreachable — I mean, who wants to pay and end up unprotected, right? I hesitated for a while, tacked on a month-to-month, and kept thinking “maybe switch” every time I saw another support thread. Anyway, when my protection actually failed I spent the next few weeks on the phone more than I’d like to admit. I called, waited, calls dropped, left messages, emailed, filed tickets — the whole circus. It was annoying, and yeah, I was getting close to cancelling for good. Felt exposed for about 27 days, which is not great.
But here’s the thing: after I finally posted a blunt review I got a call back the same day (well, a few hours later). I was driving and couldn’t pick up, but they promised a follow-up and, true to their word, someone did call back a few hours later. They verified my email, pushed an installer for an updated version of the app, and walking through a quick uninstall/reinstall fixed it — like click click, done. So my initial doubts about whether support would ever help completely vanished once I was actually connected. The tech who helped was calm and knew what he was doing, and the fix was fast once they were engaged.
I’ll be honest: I’m still a little put off that it took a negative review to get their attention. I’ve had similar runarounds with other big-name companies too, so I’m not pointing fingers only at them. But I am grateful it got resolved, and the product itself runs smoothly now. So yeah — would recommend with a caveat: be persistent if you hit a snag. I’m relieved and mildly impressed by the outcome, and I’ll give them another shot. Thanks to the support rep who finally fixed it.Ghosted by support on a Saturday
all protection toggles were off. I turned them back on, checked later and they were off again. Submitted an error report and heard nothing for a day, then uninstalled after only four months and installed another company's product. Small plus: when it actually runs, the interface is tidy and not terrible. But the support silence and settings that flip themselves? Not great. If you need round‑the‑clock protection, I'd advise holding off or having a backup ready. I just wish they'd answered once so this could've been fixed fast.
Too slow for something urgent, but lucky nothing worse happened
I wouldn't count on their support for anything time-sensitive. I've been a customer since 2017 so I expected the quick code they always sent — instead I entered an accidental mini-drama. My Android needed a new code; first I get an email from "Sue" saying they'll look into it and it might take 24+ hours. Fine. Day two, Sue emails asking for name and email (same info I'd already given). I reply. Day three, Sue asks the same thing again. Day four, yep, same request from Sue. Four days with my phone basically unprotected while the email loop continued. It was more frustrating than frightening, and honestly I'm grateful nothing bad happened during the gap — could've been a lot worse — so I can't call it a disaster, just sloppy. If your phone is your lifeline, have a backup plan or call them directly instead of waiting on those repeat emails. I hope they tighten up the process — training or a checklist would help — because right now it feels like someone hit reply-repeat.
Satisfied, but not without drama
simple, did its job, no fuss. Then, over the past couple years it started acting up, kept quitting, I’d reinstall, tech support used to pick up and help right away. Lately though, radio silence — I spent an hour and a half on a walk with my phone on hold, came back and still nothing. After pestering them for a week I did get through to someone (don’t ask how), they walked me through a reinstall and the scans actually ran properly — that’s when I knew, okay, this still works. Not perfect, support is flaky, and I worry it could repeat, but for now I’m back to feeling safe — just a little wary.
