Online textbook purchase
The online textbook purchase was a nightmare. I spent hours trying to figure out how to actually get the book I paid for. The website was a mess with tons of info, but none of it was any help in finding my book. And just when I thought I had it figured out, I got locked out after a few hours. It was so frustrating and I felt like I wasted my time and money.
Textbook purchase
I just bought a textbook from this company and it was a disaster. The whole process of ordering it was a mess - the transaction didn't go through because of some address issue, but I somehow got charged twice. On top of that, I never even got the textbook I actually paid for. When I reached out to customer service for help, they were useless. They couldn't give me any info on fixing the double charge or missing book, and they wouldn't connect me with someone who could help. It feels like the whole system is messed up, as other customers have pointed out. I did get an email saying they would refund the extra charges, but this experience was just frustrating. This level of incompetence is not okay and now I'm going back to buying physical textbooks.
Ebooks, no epub download option.
I was really let down by my experience with this company. I bought some ebooks thinking I could get them in epub format, but that wasn't an option. I could only access them through the website or app, and they didn't make that clear before I bought them. If I had known that, I definitely wouldn't have made the purchase.
E-book purchase for university courses
I've been dealing with constant freezing and loading issues with the e-books I bought for school. It's been a real pain because I need these books for my studies. I've reached out about this problem several times in the last two years, but it seems like nothing's been fixed. I keep getting error messages saying the page is unresponsive when I'm trying to read, so it's been really tough to use the e-books like I need to. It's frustrating that the service hasn't gotten any better, especially since they said they were working on it.
Etext access purchase
My experience buying an etext access was pretty crappy, to be honest. I thought I was paying $40 for the actual etext, but it turned out that was just for the access code from another company. I had to dish out another $60 for the actual book, which felt sneaky and unfair. It seemed like a bait-and-switch move, and it really irked me. On the bright side, I gotta give props to the customer service team. They were quick to respond and gave me a refund once I brought up the problem.
Slow and cumbersome website
Man, let me tell you, that website is a pain to get around. It's way too slow and not at all user-friendly. I bought a workbook on there, and let me tell you - using it has been a nightmare. The scrolling is a hassle, and it doesn't even let you see two pages at once. Trying to practice questions on there is just so tedious and time-consuming. I seriously wish I never used that site to make my purchase. It feels like every little thing takes forever.
Textbook purchase
The verification email took forever to arrive, it seriously took like 10 minutes! I was just trying to do my homework from the textbook I spent 80 bucks on. It seemed so annoying and kinda pointless to have to verify my email just to access the book.
Software functionality issues
The software keeps messing up whenever I try to use features like highlighting and cue cards. Customer support hasn't been any help, they just told me to delete the highlighting and be more careful with it. So, I've made the decision to just stop using the software altogether.
E-book purchase
I had a really frustrating experience buying an e-book. The company kept using watermarks, which made it super hard for me to actually use the book after I paid for it. I had a bunch of problems trying to download it, and it felt like they were more getting in the way of my purchase instead of helping me out.
Overpriced for Limited Selection
I'm a student from the Netherlands and I gotta say, I was pretty bummed out by the lack of cheap schoolbook options on this site. They claim to have a Dutch store, but I couldn't find any of the books I needed for a decent price. It's just frustrating to see such a small selection going for sky-high prices, especially when they're supposed to be all about serving folks from around the world.
Academic book review
I recently had to review an academic book using this platform and let me tell you, it was a complete nightmare. I've been struggling with this thing for the past two months, trying to get it to work right. Today, I had to finally tell the journal that, after thirty years of reviewing, this would be the first time I couldn't finish a review. The platform is just so slow, not user-friendly at all, and a pain to figure out. It's missing important features and is just way too complicated with all these unnecessary extra features. I've had problems logging in, dealing with those annoying captcha things that don't work, and strange formatting issues like pages too small in one corner and yellow text. This whole thing has been such a frustrating and maddening experience, just a big waste of my time and energy.
Digital textbook purchase
This website is seriously the worst! I was hoping to use it for my school textbook, but man, it lags all the time. Like ALL. THE. TIME. I can't even do a simple search for a word or phrase without everything freezing up and throwing me an error message. It's like this site just can't handle long books with a bunch of chapters. And forget about flipping pages smoothly, that's just not happening. I've tried everything - reloading, switching browsers, switching up my internet connections - and nothing seems to work! It's beyond frustrating. I mean, why even offer long books on here if the site can't handle it, right? I definitely won't be recommending this mess to anyone.
Textbook app experience
Using the textbook app has been super frustrating and disappointing. It's so slow and takes forever to load, even with good internet. When I try to flip a page, there's a big delay before it actually shows up, which makes reading a big hassle and a waste of time. It feels like I have to wait for each page to load before I can even read it, unlike other apps I've used before. And the search bar? Totally unreliable and sometimes says it's not working when I really need it. Overall, this app is not efficient and it's making it hard for me to study well for my college work and exams.
Textbook purchase during exam season
I bought a textbook for 120 bucks just before my exams, but after a software update, I couldn't even get into it. The company wouldn't give me a refund or a PDF version of the book, which I needed for my exams. And when I did finally manage to open the book, it was slow and the search feature didn't even function. It was just a really bad experience, to be honest.
Rental textbook
If you're thinking about renting textbooks, I would suggest reconsidering using this service. They might say they have cheap rentals, but the thing is, you don't really own the stuff. When your rental is done, you gotta fork over more cash if you still need the book. This could actually cost you more in the end compared to just straight up buying it. It's annoying and feels like you're being played having to keep buying the same thing. Before you commit to renting, make sure to read all the details.
Textbook purchase
I just bought a textbook for one of my classes and it was a pretty smooth process. They had a good selection and the prices were competitive. The best part was I could rent or buy the book outright. Their refund policy was clear and I got my money back right away when I needed to return it.
