I didn't plan for a drama, honestly. I just wanted a solid stand bag that looked sharp and would survive the London drizzle. I had been on the fence for weeks. Titleist has been my go-to for years. But £250 for a bag? That felt steep. I read reviews. I poked at photos. I asked a mate at the club. I worried a bit about straps and zips and whether it would sit right on a trolley. So yeah, doubts. Normal ones. Pretty sure you know the sort. In the end I pulled the trigger on the STADRY Stand Bag Jet Black — mainly because it looked tidy, matched my irons, and I kept thinking, "If anyone does waterproofing right, it should be them."
Not what I expected, but pleasantly surprised
price seemed a bit high for a knit cap, and I've had cheap beanies fall apart after a couple of washes, so I was braced for disappointment. Plus, I’d seen mixed comments online and thought, here we go again.
When it arrived I studied it like I’d bought a used car. The pom looks a little fluffier in person than in the photos (not a bad thing) and the cuff felt snug but not choking. First few outings I kept waiting for the obvious weak spot — you know, the side stitching giving out or the cuff turning into a floppy mess. That didn’t happen. After a couple of windy mornings it still held shape, was warm enough that I didn’t feel like a frozen noodle, and it didn’t itch (minor miracle for me).
I did notice one tiny seam that looked like it might deserve a closer stitch, and I admit I did reach out to customer service (old habits — I expect to be ignored). To my surprise they replied with advice on care and offered a replacement if it worsened. They didn’t promise the moon, but they were helpful, which calmed me down a lot.
So yeah, skepticism morphed into okay-ness, then into actual appreciation. Is it perfect? No — the logo is a touch more prominent than I’d hoped and the pom can get a bit flattened in a golf bag, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker. For someone who needed warmth, a decent fit, and something that survives a few rounds, this did the job. I’d buy it again, though I’d still check seams now and then. If you’re picky about couture knitwear, temper expectations; if you want solid, practical warmth with a familiar brand backing it, it’s worth a shot.
