first call they couldn’t find my reservation, second call they told me I didn’t need to pay, third call the rep (Daniel) got sharp and started blaming the hotel. Every time they said they rang the front desk but no phone ever went off while I was standing there. Oddly, the receptionist was calm and let us check in while we sorted it (that was a surprise). Still, not a smooth experience.
Lobby plot twist
it worked enough to sleep, but the booking experience and aftercare left me frustrated and wary. Won’t trust them next time.
Suitcase Saga
the desk tells me there’s no reservation under my name. I called customer support, they basically said “you can check in but it’ll be a different room” or I could drive back home — no real solution. I was told to email the head office for compensation after the trip, so I did the next day. Crickets. A month of chasing, two different complaint emails, phone calls, nothing. One guy even handed me another address to send personal info to — bedsonline — and I thought, wait, why am I handing my life to a random inbox? It never felt resolved, and yeah, it left a bad taste. I’m annoyed more than furious now — mostly exhausted from the runaround.
Half-packed then ghosted
"contractual issue" — suddenly my South Italy hotel didn't exist anymore. I booked in May for June; one day before check-in they offered either a refund or a different room with 15% off. I took the refund and figured I'd sort something directly with the hotel. Customer service then disappeared. No replies, no refund for weeks. I finally got my money back through the credit card a month later. The site itself is okay to search and the prices can be good, and I do use it for family getaways and quick work trips, but their delivery on refunds and actual customer support is shaky. Not terrible overall, but that kind of ghosting is a real headache.

I almost laughed when the email arrived a day before check-in. I was nervous about booking an expensive place through a third party — had done it before with no problems, so I thought it was fine. Cancelled trip, no response from Hotelopia
I had to cancel my trip to New York and I needed a Cancellation Invoice from Hotelopia to give to my insurance company. I didn't hear anything back from them, no response to my emails or calls. It's so frustrating!
Charge without booking
This company went ahead and charged my card without even making a booking for me. When I tried reaching out to them to solve the issue, I found that my options were limited and the customer service was not helpful at all. And to top it off, I ended up speaking to a Chinese operator who just hung up on me out of nowhere. So, just a heads up, be careful with this company because you might have to contact your card company for help.
Hotel booking
I really need to make sure you understand - do whatever you can to avoid this company! My experience dealing with them was just awful. The customer service was so bad, with people on the phone who were more interested in arguing than helping me out. When I asked for a confirmation email for my booking, the person kept asking for my email address over and over, which made me feel uneasy. Finally, when I did get the email, it was for a totally different hotel from a different company. This kind of mistake and dishonesty is just not acceptable. Don't go through the same stress and annoyance I did - go with a trustworthy company instead.

Family summer trip to Malta
I found it super easy to book hotels in Malta. There were tons of options and the rates were pretty competitive. I ended up booking three different hotels in various locations, all recommendations from the booking platform. The whole process was quick and painless, and there were so many different room and board types to choose from. And let me tell you, the hotels looked just as stunning in person as they did in the pictures. I definitely recommend using this platform for your next trip!
Reservation issue
I made a reservation for July 1st through July 8th, but when I called the hotel, they told me they didn't have any record of my booking. What's going on here? I also tried reaching out via email, but I haven't received any response at all. Could someone please assist me with this issue?
Quick and efficient refunds
I had to cancel my hotel booking in Glasgow and got a refund within 2 days. When I had to cancel 9 nights in Japan, I got a quick response and the money was back in my account the next day (even though they said it might take 5-20 days). I'm happy with how the refund went.
Reservation issue
I tried booking a hotel room but never got a confirmation. They already charged my credit card and now I can't cancel because their site is down and I can't reach customer service. It's so frustrating, I'm not sure what to do next!
Payment issue at hotel
Avoid this place at all costs, the service was absolutely terrible. I gave them my payment but they never actually paid the hotel. They even lied about speaking to the hotel staff while we were right there with them. I wouldn't even give them one star, they deserve zero.

I just stayed at a hotel using this platform, and let me tell you, it was not a good experience. The way the company handled things was unprofessional and made me question their integrity. Reservation mix-up
I booked 2 deluxe rooms for 4 adults and 2 children using this hotel booking website. But when we got to the hotel, we were given standard rooms instead, and the reservation for the kids wasn't even in their system. Hotel booking in Brazil
I was a little unsure at first because of the reviews, but with a tempting offer, I decided to give it a shot. I booked for two people, but when I called the hotel three days later to confirm, they said it was only for one person. Worried, I contacted customer service and explained the situation. The person I spoke with was really nice and after a short pause, she said she had talked to the reservation department of the hotel in Brazil and fixed my booking. Just to be sure, I called the hotel in Brazil and thankfully, there were indeed two people in the system, confirming they were aware of the issue. I was pleasantly surprised by the service, and thankfully, our stay went smoothly without any more problems.
Booking Issue
I had a terrible experience with Hotelopia. I got to the hotel, and they said they had no record of my booking. I called customer service, and they said I could still check in, but they’d give me a different room. They also mentioned I could go back home, but they couldn’t find me another place to stay. I reluctantly took the different room and was told to email the main office for compensation later. I never heard back from them, despite reaching out several times.
When I called customer service again, they gave me an email address for another company, Bedsonline, and told me to send my booking info there. It felt sketchy, so I decided not to do it. All in all, my whole experience with Hotelopia was super frustrating and really let me down.Frustrating hotel booking
Man, we made a hotel reservation on this website and when we finally arrived after a crazy long flight, they had no idea about it! Can you believe that? We ended up wasting a whole day arguing with them and had to fork out money for another hotel night. And then they had the audacity to tell us we needed to make a new reservation ourselves for the entire stay. It was such a hassle! And don't even get me started on the refund process - it took ages! We only got our money back after threatening them with legal action. To save yourself from all that headache, just steer clear of booking through them, seriously. I'm never using this site again!
