    Long drive, decent stop

    I signed up thinking half-day sounded easy, but the trip felt like a marathon. Stonehenge itself is impressive and worth it, but the 2.5-hour ride was tiring, the driver mumbled and we never got the snack. I've had better tours, mixed feelings.

    Standing by the van, I was relieved — I booked this after a bad tour. The guide knew Soweto, took us to several spots, and the kids started playing with local children. Her flexibility made the day easy and she answered every question. Pretty glad it turned out okay.

    Quietly impressed by Soweto

    I saw the tour on a friend’s feed and booked. Neighborhoods felt authentic, locals were welcoming and the kids in our group immediately started playing with local children. The guide was knowledgeable, flexible and answered everything. I tipped her — was happy it worked out.

    Came to relax, left annoyed

    We drove up for a family boat trip — I needed a low-stress day after a hectic move and sore back — but the booking site listed the wrong meeting point. We missed the boat, called the operator who said the address was different, and Viator refused a refund or credit. Disappointing, still works when details are right.

    Morning shuffle

    Right in the middle of getting ready I found out we'd been moved to a later slot and split from the rest of my group. The tour felt relaxed, the guide was great and the route pleasant, but having my anxious kid separated made it hard — it took the fun away. They've got good parts, just not perfect.

    Waiting felt long, then wow

    Felt like the morning would be ruined when we waited forever (bus trouble) — but the exact moment I knew I was genuinely happy was walking into that hilltop town with a glass in hand. The stops were gorgeous, the tasting actually surprised me — way better than some tours I've done before. A bit slow on logistics, sure, but I left grateful and smiling, honestly.

    Not something I'd book again. We lost over half an hour at the start because the bus broke down, so our stop in Monteriggioni got squeezed — annoying when I plan these day trips to break up a long workweek. The bus kept running slowly after that, mechanical hiccups and all. The sites were nice and the wine tasting was actually worth it, but transport and timing dragged the whole thing down.

    Half refund, polite rep

    Right after my sister-in-law pulled a muscle I called to cancel—I'd worried about their policy before buying, and those doubts stuck. They refused a full refund on the $160 ticket, kept a hefty fee and returned only part. The rep was surprisingly polite, but that didn't fix the policy. If you want flexibility, double-check terms. I’ll warn friends not to book without clear cancellation protection.

    Left behind on the curb

    30 until after nine. No bus. No call. Apparently the tour changed the pickup spot and nobody told us — felt like we were ghosted by a coach. Getting through to a real person was a joke and finding a phone number was like a scavenger hunt. This was supposed to be the trip highlight. Totally ruined the day. Other companies at least call.

    Keep an eye on the fine print

    I'd book here again only if you're careful about the cancellation fine print. We booked through Viator and the operator asked to move our tour to another day — we said ok to be flexible. After that the terms were quietly changed to no refunds. Later we got sick and canceled inside the 24-hour window they showed originally, but they refused a refund. People were friendly, not awful, so I'm grateful it wasn't a total mess, but double-check everything.
