So, I was checking out this company that sells car covers and accessories, and decided to go for the Platinum Shield Car Cover and Gust Strap Wind Protector for my Porsche that I keep parked outside. At first, I was pretty happy with my purchase, but then things started going downhill. The plastic clips for the straps broke after only 6 months, and the straps got all stretched out and couldn't hold the cover down properly anymore. On top of that, the lock and cable started rusting like crazy, and the cover wasn't as waterproof as they said it was. After just a year, the cover was falling apart with tears and holes everywhere. Dealing with customer service was a hassle too, the warranty process was a pain and didn't really help at all. All in all, I was pretty let down by the quality of the products and the service I got.
Bought a car cover, $160
I bought a really awesome car cover for my ride a few months back and I was super pumped to try it out. But you won't believe what happened - it started falling apart after only a short time! Can you imagine? The cover turned all white and began disintegrating like a cookie. When I went to take it off, there were all these gross white particles flying around everywhere! It was like a snowstorm, but way nastier. I even had to wear a mask because I didn't want to breathe in all that mess. And to top it off, the top part ripped open, leaving my car totally exposed. Definitely not cool.
Car cover for my 2017 Honda CRV
I'm really bummed out about this car cover I got from this website. It totally fell apart in just two years, turning into this weird white powder that made my driveway look like a snowstorm hit. Even though I've bought stuff from them before, I was super let down by how bad this product was. And to top it off, their warranty was basically useless and had hidden charges if you tried to use it. I did some digging on the Better Business Bureau website and turns out lots of other people have had the same crummy experience.
Platinum Shield car cover purchase
I splurged on the fancy Platinum Shield car cover from this company, thinking it would give my car some serious protection from the elements. But man was I let down. The cover was a total fail - water seeped through like crazy, creating big puddles that bugs loved. Not exactly what I had in mind. When I tried to get some help from the company, they totally ghosted me. No support whatsoever. And don't get me started on the gust strap kit I bought - what a joke. The clips were junk and broke right away, making me spend even more cash on replacements. Talk about a waste of $200. This product was all show and no go. Just an expensive dustcover, really.
"Factory" cover, poor fit
I was really let down by the "factory" cover I bought from Car Covers. It didn't fit well at all, barely covering my Miata. I felt like I got scammed twice - first by the Craigslist seller and then by Car Covers. They even said I needed to buy extra stuff to keep it from flying off in strong winds, which was annoying. I definitely wouldn't suggest Car Covers to anyone in search of a good cover.
