But then the guy there explained why they needed to deduct some money from the original price they quoted me. I guess it made sense in the end.

I went to this car buying service recently to sell my car and it was a total waste of time. I had used them before with no problem, but this time was a disaster. I got a bunch of emails with different prices, so I decided to take my car in to see how much they would offer. The guy at the office was not professional at all, he just kept mumbling and complaining about the weather. When he finally told me the offer, it was way too low - way lower than what another place had offered me. I left there feeling like I had just wasted my time and ended up selling my car easily at a different place for more money. And to top it off, they later sent me another offer that was only half of what they offered me at the office. Can you believe that? It was just crazy!

Easy purchase but unexpected fees
Selling my car was a breeze, I met up with this guy Dave who was super cool and broke everything down for me. I was stoked with how everything went. But then they spring this £49.99 admin fee and another fee for transferring the money to my account on me! Seriously, what's up with that? Not cool at all. It definitely put a downer on the whole thing. And I never saw anything about these charges before our meeting, not cool, man.
