I first noticed the Buchanan Galleries shop on a quick lunch walk. A coworker had actually suggested I try the St. Enoch Center instead, so I did. Buchanan felt cold. Staff barely looked up. My online pickup was slow and nobody checked why. I gave up and walked to St. Enoch. Totally different. They greeted me, pulled up my order, and even arranged a same-day delivery when I asked. Delivery showed up on time. Frustrating start, but I was relieved by the fast delivery. I'll go back. The item works fine, though the box had a small scuff — not a big deal. Service made all the difference. Buchanan? They need to re-train staff.
Last-minute gift turned into a waiting game
friendly enough, but nothing really fixed. They did refund the express charge, which was fine, but there wasn’t much of an apology and the whole point of the order disappeared. The courier, DX Delivery, deserves a special mention — their insistence on online-only support made everything slower and more annoying. I spent more time clicking through menus than actually getting answers. A replacement is penciled in for March 20, but after this experience I’m not holding my breath. I’ve had better luck with smaller retailers who actually pick up the phone, so this felt especially frustrating. Minor sigh here — the necklace might still arrive, but the stress really ruined the surprise vibe.
