Sat at my kitchen counter this morning with one of their jars open — honestly, it feels like eating something made with care. The online order came wrapped really well, nothing smashed, and the jars and boxes are pleasantly weighty. I use their preserves and pantry items for quick weekday breakfasts and for simple dinner sauces; they make ordinary meals feel a bit more thoughtful. Also popped into their shop and caught a garden talk — quiet, interesting, booked on a whim with my partner. Glad I found them, and it’s easy to reorder when I run low.
Late-but-happy
Halfway through the Easter chaos — strewn napkins, a toddler stealing ribbons — I noticed the centerpiece I ordered was nowhere to be found. No tracking update, nothing. I called, and after a long hold I was told it was scheduled for the next Saturday. After Easter. Of course I was annoyed. The first rep sounded robotic and kept saying I should have picked the combined shipment option, like that magically fixes a holiday calendar that’s clearly… flexible. I muttered a few choice words and set the phone down.
Not great for last-minute gifts
Not good for last-minute or mixed gifts. Saw it after a friend recommended it, so I gave it a try. Delivery took forever — like over a week — and items I ordered for one person showed up in separate drops. Pretty annoying when it’s food and someone’s sick. The stuff itself was fine though, and I’m glad it wasn’t worse. They just need to sync deliveries better.
Underwhelmed, but refund saved face
Not impressed overall — the order missed the promised delivery date and the contact I got felt curt and defensive. I first saw them on a neighborhood group and a coworker actually recommended trying them, so I was surprised. They blamed small batch production and gave me a new date two weeks out with no apology, which was frustrating. On the plus side the refund was handled pretty fast when I asked. Poor interaction overall.
Milk bath in a zero-waste box
I opened it on a weekday morning and the first thing I noticed was a wet smell. The milk container had split and everything in the zero-waste box was sticky. I ended up pulling items out with my bare hands because they were damp, which I really didn't want to do. I like the concept here — reusing packaging and all — but the execution fell short. When I complained they offered a 10% discount and free delivery. Free delivery doesn't fix my ruined items. No replacement, no real apology. Also, half the kit felt like leftover holiday stock; lots of Christmas labels in February. I've had cleaner, more thoughtful handling from smaller shops before, so that stung. A little enthusiasm for sustainability, but a lot of careless packing. Would consider ordering again if they tightened up quality control and actually replaced damaged products next time. Also, customer support could be quicker.
Almost a dud, support saved it
my order went through, paid, then I found out they don't ship outside the UK. Kinda annoying, sure, but support actually sorted it and refunded me straight away, so credit where it's due. My tip: just hide that shipping option for non-UK addresses so people don't get hopeful. Overall skeptical at first, felt better once they fixed it.
