I don't think I'll order from here again. I grabbed this pizza after a long shift last Friday, planning a quick pickup and dinner — and that's why I was annoyed. At first glance it looked fine, cheese melted, pepperoni smelled decent, even the thin crust had a nice crisp I didn't expect (that was actually a pleasant surprise). But then I noticed the slices: square cuts. I had ordered thin-sliced pepperoni and ham, and apparently pie-cut isn't the default unless you dig through settings to change it. Who does that? I repeatedly order, pick up, eat, done. Having to change an account setting for a basic preference feels dumb and wastes time. The pizza itself wasn't terrible, but I couldn't get past the cut—ended up tossing a few slices later because it was messy to eat. So fair price, okay flavor, but the annoying ordering quirks and lack of obvious options make this a one-off for me unless they fix it. Not worth the hassle for me.
The paid-pizza drama
it was New Year’s Day and my disabled daughter and her kids needed dinner, so I put in a $93 online order because, frankly, I didn’t want them to worry about cooking. I was already uneasy — had a bad delivery once before — but the site accepted the card and sent a confirmation email, so I thought, ok. Fast forward: the driver shows up at the house but then asks for payment. My daughter flashes the emailed receipt, he says he has to call his manager, then disappears with the bag back to his car. After half an hour and me blowing up the store phone seven times, someone finally answered and told the driver to return. I called corporate and got an auto-text. Felt ridiculous, felt like I was negotiating for pizza. The food arrived eventually but the hassle left me annoyed and a little sad — needed a simple thing and it turned into a circus.
Coupon confusion, but pizza still decent
A random coupon showed up and of course I thought, great. I use Domino’s a lot, mostly for quick weeknight meals. I used this one on a weeknight after work. First try was carryout — app wouldn’t accept it. Switched to delivery. That’s when the price jumped. Not the tip, which I expect, but extra fees that pushed a “free” pizza toward nearly eight bucks. I poked around, adjusted the order, tried again. Then the app said there’s a $13 minimum for delivery. That felt misleading and kind of cheap. I called customer care, waited a few minutes, went back and forth, and they fixed the order. Pizza arrived hot. The cheese had a good stretch and the box was warm in my hands. Crust felt right, toppings were as I’d chosen. So I went from annoyed and skeptical to actually satisfied. Would be nicer if coupons were clearer. I’ll keep ordering, but I won’t assume “free” always means free.
Late-night pizza, weird service
57 PM from the 1st Ave Domino's. The food arrived around 11:17, hot and honestly the pies were fine, crust held up and cheese was decent. But the store didn't have any cups when I asked. I asked twice and then two employees got pretty rude, told me they couldn't give cups and shouted at me to leave. I asked for a manager and one guy said he was the supervisor and basically shrugged me off. I had my nine year old with me and he started crying because of the commotion, so I just took the boxes and left. It felt strange because they still took my order for drinks, so why not say up front that cups were out? In the end the pizza did the job and we ate in the car, but the attitude made the night more stressful than it needed to be. If you go late, maybe call ahead about cups/opening, and be ready to eat on the go. Honestly, wish they'd handled it differently and faster. Glad the pizza tasted okay though.
Local win after a delivery mix-up
I was kind of hesitant to order at all — I’ve used the same chain for ages and figured it’d be quick and simple, but then I got that weird call saying they couldn’t deliver to my street. My card had already gone through, everything looked normal, so yeah, skeptical. The manager explained their cutoff line and even sent a screenshot, which felt a little odd since I’d never had a problem before. We went back and forth, I tried to explain where I lived, and honestly it was getting annoying. In the end I decided to try a nearby place I’d never used, Jaffrey Pizza Barn, and wow — glad I did. Order process was easy, the staff actually seemed to care, and the food showed up hot and on time. I’m surprised and pretty thankful — the doubts I had before ordering mostly melted away as soon as I smelled the food. If you’re on the fence because a chain says they won’t deliver, give a local spot a shot. Might be better than you expect, and supporting them feels good too.
Avoid this Domino’s location
I wouldn’t recommend the Hunts Cross/Speke Hall Road Domino’s. I tried them once in-store and then ordered through Uber Eats — both were disappointing, so that’s my short take. I’ve used other Domino’s nearby (Allerton Road, Aigburth) for years and generally they’re fine, which is why I gave this place a shot. First impression in the shop was off — staff weren’t friendly and the whole thing felt sloppy. Then one night I ordered on Uber Eats, waited about an hour and a half with zero contact. The app later showed “delivered,” but nothing ever arrived. I rang the store number listed online; someone picked up, listened, then put the phone down twice without saying anything. No apology, no offer to refund, nothing — just silence. I called back, tried to be reasonable, but it went nowhere. I’ve seen other reviews saying the same thing (several people reporting missing orders), so this isn’t just me. It’s not all terrible — the pizza quality, when it arrives, is okay — but the communication and basic service here are unreliable. If you’re a hospital worker or anyone on a schedule, I’d go elsewhere.
Fixed by the folks at the counter
cluttered and pushy — several extra-item pop-ups kept appearing and once a duplicate large pizza showed up in the cart for that special deal (so weird). I got through it by removing the extras and double-checking each pizza. The site forces both phone and email to continue, which felt unnecessary but whatever. Entered my card and checkout went fine. Pickup in-store was smooth, staff friendly and honest about the previous mistake we had (they corrected it before). That’s the actual point I felt satisfied — not because of the website, but because the people handled the problem and didn’t make excuses. One real gripe remains: the on-screen receipt only lists how many pizzas and the total, not what goes on each one. Since toppings were the original issue, an itemized confirmation would save a lot of back-and-forth next time.
Finally heard back, sort of
the silence beforehand sucked, and the timeline was way too long. Also the way different staff answered questions varied — one person sounded clueless, another was helpful. But the manager’s follow-up call made the difference; their tone and the practical fix showed they cared enough to make amends. I’ll not say I’m 100% happy — I wouldn’t if this happened again — but for now I’ll give them another shot. If you’re considering ordering, just be ready to follow up if something’s off. Tip: call the store directly first, and if you don’t get anywhere, ask for an Area Manager up front.
Pepperoni pizza and cheesy breadsticks
You know, I gotta say, my time at that place was a bit of a letdown. First of all, trying to order online was a nightmare - the website kept crashing, and entering my info took forever. Once I finally managed to place my order, the service in person wasn't much better. The person at the register seemed like they couldn't care less about helping me out, and it took way too long for my order to be ready. Plus, when I saw the prices, I was shook - way too expensive for what I got. The pizza was just okay, nothing special, and don't get me started on those bland cheese sticks. The only good thing was the delivery, it actually got to me on time and still warm. All in all, I was left feeling unimpressed with the whole experience.
Pepperoni pizza and garlic knots
I gotta be real, I wasn't too happy with the pizza I got from that place last time. The crust was too doughy, the sauce was kind of plain, and the cheese wasn't that melty, gooey goodness I usually like. Even the garlic knots were overdone and dry, not the buttery, garlicky goodness I was hoping for. Basically, I left feeling let down and hungry for something better.
Pepperoni pizza, cheesy bread, and soda
The delivery took way longer than I thought it would, and by the time the food got here, the pizza was cold, the cheese bread was all soggy, and the soda was warm. I was pretty let down by the food and the service in general. The prices were okay, but with the low quality, I'm not sure it was worth it. The delivery guy was nice and all, but it didn't really make up for how disappointing the meal was.
Large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese
I have to say, ordering from this place was a total nightmare. Their website was all messed up, so I had to call in my order instead. Dealing with their service was just okay - the person on the phone didn't seem very patient or excited to take my order. And when my pizza showed up, it was cold and definitely not worth what I shelled out for it. Plus, the delivery driver seemed like they couldn't find their way to my place, which just added to the frustration. I am never ordering from this joint again, that's for sure.
Pepperoni pizza and garlic knots
I gotta be real, I was so let down by my latest order. The pizza wasn't even hot, and the garlic knots were like rocks. I thought this spot was supposed to be top-notch. Plus, it took forever for my food to get here, and when I called to ask about it, the service was pretty meh. And to add insult to injury, the prices were steep for what I got. All in all, it was a big disappointment.
Large Pepperoni Pizza with Garlic Parmesan White Sauce and Stuffed Cheesy Bread
I just got a big pepperoni pizza with garlic parmesan white sauce and some stuffed cheesy bread from this place. The pizza was cooked just right, lots of toppings, and the crust was nice and crispy. That garlic parmesan white sauce really made it stand out, different from other pizza places. The cheesy bread was really good too, with gooey cheese and tasty seasoning. I really enjoyed my food and I'll definitely come back for more.
Large pepperoni pizza with breadsticks and soda
The ordering process was really quick and easy. I got to make my own pizza with extra toppings hassle-free. The website was simple to use and let me follow my order as it was being made. The service was friendly and quick; my order was ready on time for me to pick up. The prices were fair for how much food I got, which was good quality. The pizza was so tasty with lots of toppings, and the breadsticks were warm and yummy. The delivery was fast and the driver was nice, making sure my food was still hot when it got to me.
